"We recently visited the Jiffy Lube on East Bay Drive for an oil change on our 2016 Pilot. The staff there was notably courteous, and the oil change process itself was efficient and satisfactory. We were pleasantly surprised by the extra care they took, including sweeping out the vehicle and washing the windows - a nice touch that we really appreciated. In addition to the oil change, the team conducted a thorough check of the vehicle. They refilled various fluids, checked the air in the tires, and provided a detailed maintenance report. However, we encountered some issues with the accuracy of this report. Our vehicle is regularly serviced at the dealership, ensuring it’s well-maintained. The recommendations from Jiffy Lube included: Immediate rear differential service Immediate brake fluid refill Immediate replacement of rear brake pads Replacement of engine and cabin filters Replacement of front brake pads Complete replacement of brake fluid Need for 4 new tires Replacement of the serpentine belt due to wear Concerned by these extensive and urgent recommendations, we took our Pilot to the dealer for a multi-point inspection. The dealer confirmed that none of these services were necessary at this time. In fact, the serpentine belt had been replaced just six months prior. Additionally, the dealer discovered a new leak around the oil filter area and identified an issue with our struts, neither of which were present before our visit to Jiffy Lube. Based on this experience, it feels like there was an attempt to upsell services that weren’t needed, particularly to my wife who was there by herself. While I can recommend them for a basic oil change, I advise caution regarding their maintenance recommendations. It's always a good idea to double-check such extensive service suggestions with your regular vehicle maintenance provider."
