Reviews of Banter by Piercing Pagoda
"Was really disappointed with the experience today at this location. I gave it two stars for the simple fact that it did have a large jewelry selection Me and a friend had booked appointments ahead of time to get ear piercings. When we first arrived the lady working wasn't friendly and really didn't seem to want to be there which was the first red flag. My friend asked about a promotion deal that they were doing and instantly her response was, Yes there's this promotion but you and your friend basically can't use it together. Which wasn't her question in the first place and honestly rude for her to just infer that that's what was being asked. After picking out earrings, my friend got her ear piercing first since she booked for the 11:00 slot. We both on the website booked for piercings using the hallowed needle and they did still use the hand pressurized device. So that was another red flag. My friend personally doesn't mind using a device like that, but it's just not what we booked for online and there was no communication from her that she was unable to provide that booked service and that if we would still want the piercing using the device. After her piercing was done, I asked her if we needed to walk around and come back for the 12:00 appointment because I wasn't sure if there was somebody booked in between us as we booked separately. Her response was that she didn't care and that it doesn't matter. Honestly at that point we should have just left. Ended up just saying I was ready to go. I picked out my earrings, paid and got ready. She did my first ear and then she thought she'd grabbed the wrong earrings. She literally picked out the box from the trash and looked at it. We had a short conversation. If these were the correct earrings which they were, they were fine but then continued to pierce my other ear without changing gloves. I should have said something and I wish I did. But I was ready to go. I will say it was very noticeable that between both my friends piercing and mine that yes gloves were worn but only hand sanitizer was ever used. She never at any point between our piercings washed her hands. Maybe it's because I've typically gotten previous piercings done at tattoo/piercing places where sanitation practices were held to the highest standard. I'm sure working at Town center is not always pleasant. People can have bad days but the level and lack of customer service and sanitation practices I won't go back and I will never recommend this place."
"i have never had a worse costumer service than today. My friends and I went into Banter to get a piercing done for my friend at around 5 pm today (2/17) and the employees were horrible from the moment we walked in. They were rude and very passive aggressive. My friend had asked if she could get a piercing to which the employee answered “i guess so” after asking her age. The employee had rudely dealt with us and her tone was not one we appreciated. We also overheard a conversation between the employee who was dealing with us and another about how they don’t carry bracelets sizes for “fat people” after a man asked for a 9 inch bracelet. Overall, this experience ruined our shopping experience and we were very disappointed. Will not be returning to this shop."
"I went to this shop for my friend's piercing today at around 5, and the experience was definitely disappointing. From the beginning, they were dismissive and just generally annoyed with any questions or concerns that we asked them about. They were also whispering about other customers and made some rude comments about them that really dampered the experience. I've heard a lot of good things about this place, but this was definitely off-putting to say the least."
"Came here at 5 pm 2/17 with a friend and watched her get treated horribly the entire time. From the moment we stepped foot in the store, the worker very obviously showed their disdain for the job and for us. Not only was the piercer dismissive but we even overheard a different interaction with on older man where that worker and their co worker proceeded to say they didn't have a certain bracelet size because they don't pander to "fat people" in response to another customer. The worker had tattoos and a sentiment peircing. Another worker and them proceeded to whisper quietly multiple timeswhile looking at us making us feel judged and unwelcome. The very first interaction we had with them, my friend asked "can I get a piercing" and after asking age, the piercer replied with "I guess." Overall passive aggressive and annoyed at our presence as if us being there ruined her day."
"Went to get my sister a 14k gold stud for her ear since she has a pretty severe metal allergy and we were lied to by the piercer we went to. A lovely lady (I’m so sorry I didn’t catch your name) helped us find jewelry and gave recommendations for healing the damage from the original jewelry. Mike offered to help us swap the new jewelry in and even though it wouldn’t fit because of the swelling he was kind and patient with us and helped clean my sisters ear and make sure it was set up for it’s best healing journey as we left. Super thankful for everyone there taking time to make us feel special!"
