1928 Cuban Bistro - Fernandina Beach

"We had the Cuban sandwich spicy and the Elena Ruth sandwich with Brie cheese added. The Cuban sandwich was very flavorful, especially compared to other Cuban sandwiches we've had in the area that were dry and bland. The Cuban sandwich here was moist, savory, and had a little bit of flare to it as we ordered it spicy style. The Elena Ruth sandwich was very unique and very sweet. If you have a sweet tooth, this is the sandwich you must try for sure! The coffee was good and tasted strong. The tres leches was extremely moist and even had a little bit of milk leftover at the bottom of the bowl. If you like you tres leches very moist, then you must give one of these desserts a try. The people working the counter were nice and helpful."

"First time and I had ordered takeout. Tried the spicy Cuban, chicken and 1928 empanada. Cuban was great, but could use a little more pickles as I only had at most 2 in half of the sandwich. The chicken empanada was okay, flavor wasn’t all there. I wasn’t sure what goes into the 1928 but I figured it would be good and it was delicious, very flavorful! I also ordered 2 Mexican cokes which they didn’t have and was offered regular can cokes. Anyone who advertises Mexican coke should know it’s not the same as a regular coke. They should remove it off their online menu if it’s not available and educate the staff on what they’re selling."

"Staff was super friendly and helpful. Visited our table several times to check on things. The food was unbelievable! Super fresh and tasty and the pastries were as good as they looked. The atmosphere was nice and the place was clean."

"We stopped at this spot to grab a late lunch, and it did not disappoint! The service was excellent from the moment you walked in until you were walking out the door. The food was well plated and presented. We ordered the rice plate with the braised chicken and sweet plantains. It tasted like true family home cooking. The portions were generous so we had leftovers to take back to our hotel for later. You can’t go to a Cuban restaurant without getting a couple guava cheese pastries. They were scrumptious and transported me to growing up in Miami. We can’t wait to visit again. If you want flavorful food that tastes like it was cooked with love, you must eat here! "This was the first time trying out breakfast for a work meeting/catch up. It was great and fast service with a lot of options to try. Even took a box home full of sweet and savory goodies for later. If you have not tried their breakfast (they serve all day) check them out. It was not crowded at all for a sit down meal and discussion and a great place to meet downtown in the morning."
