Reviews of Days Inn by Wyndham Fort Lauderdale Airport Cruise Port
"We stay for 2 days. I have a hard time going to sleep in a hotel. But on top of that 1 night we sleep on the side of the street. During the day wasn't that loud but at night. It was very loud. I didn' sleep all night. O and breakfast is not like other days inn . I have stayed. They didn't have a waffle maker ,eggs , sausage or any fruit."
"Nasty, dirty, old rooms. Was given room with dirty walls, nasty carpet, broken AC, generally dirty. Demanded different room which was marginally better. Location is very sketchy area. No good food options within walking distance. This place has outlived its time and needs total restoration, or razing. Cannot recommend."
"Absolutely filthy with rude staff. STAY AWAY! Too long didn't read; the room was filthy, they told us we didn't have the rooms we booked and were really rude about it, the room smelled like mold, water seeped out of the floor when you walked on it, the walls and doors were filthy, including brown goop that might have been feces on the inside of the bathroom door, the water from the faucets was yellow, unlike the other motel we moved to after this disaster. The city health inspector seriously needs to pay this place a visit. My parents and I tried to stay here before a cruise, my parents booked 2 rooms for us. They showed up first and I showed up later. I tried to check in with my reservation number and they said it didn't exist. I tried to understand what was going on and the desk clerk at approximately 8 pm Jan 28, 2024, told me the hotel was full and they didn't have the room we booked, and basically it wasn't her problem. Her attitude said I was wasting her time and needed to leave. She also told someone she was talking to on speakerphone or a radio to "shut up" which given how she was talking to me I thought was directed at me for a second. I think I was just interrupting her personal call though with the reservation problem that turned out to be completely her fault and fixable. So my parents have a room with 2 queen beds and say I can stay in their room. I get into their room and it's filthy. I also notice the floor is wet, then realize water is seeping out between the cracks of the cheap flooring when you step on it, which explains the mold smell. I need to use the bathroom and my mom tells me the water is yellowish-brown, sure enough the freshly flushed toilet filled with yellow-brown water. (note: the motel down the road had normal water, it wasn't a local thing) I close the door to the bathroom and notice chunks of brown gunk below the handle of the door that I didn't want to investigate further, plus the bathroom walls were covered in grime. At that point I tried to get a hold of any sort of management or support, but Wyndham's support site was email only and said it would take a couple days. Calling the hotel only got the rude front desk clerk. At that point I said, no, we are not staying here, and started shopping for a new hotel. We found one and contacted our credit card company to chargeback the Days Inn. As we were leaving I told the front desk clerk about the conditions and that we were leaving. She said that actually my parents had checked in already, which would have checked into both rooms, but they didn't check in with her (they absolutely did, she was rude to them then too, made them feel like they were inconveniencing her, she apparently just didn't remember). Anyway she says they must have the second room for us because of that. I tell her I don't care, I tell her about how filthy the room is and that water is seeping out of the floor so we aren't going to stay there. The final cherry on top, she asks what room we had, I tell her 119, she says that's one of their best... is that supposed to help things? I've worked customer service. I don't act like the entitled jerks I had to deal with, but this is probably the worst customer service I've ever seen."
"We arrived at night to a not so friendly lady, then once we were checked in after a LONG wait, the first thing we saw in our room was a cockroach. The front door did not close tightly so the noise from the outside not only came through the windows but also the door, sleep did not come easy if at all. We rented 3 rooms, everyone had the same complaints. The hotel is on a VERY busy street. Breakfast in the morning was toast and cereal. When we got onto the shuttle to the port(15$ per person), every single person was complaining about the hotel. We would not recommend this hotel."
"Some of the rooms have been remodeled and are liveable; the rest remain incredibly disappointing. This is leading to the mixed experiences in reviews. Bottom line: still not worth the risk. For context on my travel experience, I have visited more than 40 countries and stayed in the cheapest hostels throughout South America and Asia. I have slept with cockroaches, fleas, etc. I am not a squeamish/dramatic person. We stayed here as a large party that paid for 4 rooms. On arrival, 1 room was pretty standard for a cheap, seedy east coast motel (as expected). 2 rooms were bad, probably the worst I've seen in North America. The last room was really bad; heavy mold issue and obvious vermin issues (cockroach + bedbugs). We immediately chatted with the front desk and got the 1 room replaced with another. This new room was the best one yet, obviously recently remodeled and nothing major to complain about. The other 2 rooms still had issues. Bed bug stains on the mattress cover, and some of the bed sheets had not been changed (some cockroach carapace debris between the sheets and lots of black curly hairs). I was curious about the huge difference in room quality and walked around the complex peeking into windows (there were very few guests the day we stayed). It looks like some of the rooms are currently getting remodeled, with some tradespeople working and work trucks in the parking lot. However, the rest are still very dubious. Not much else to say regarding the other issues the reviews mention: yes, the neighborhood is rough, the staff is meh, the shuttle is spotty. Very close to the airport and cruise terminal which was the goal. After our stay, we are following standard bed bug procedures and unfortunately more than one of us have a couple bites. I'll come back to update this review if anything else comes from it."
