"It was the Friday before Memorial Day. We had poured a new slab at a zero-lot line project in downtown Lakeland. We had a late afternoon rainstorm, the kind that dumps 2” of rain in 30 minutes. A short time later we discovered the next-door neighbors finished floor was 8” lower than ours and we had flooded their unit. I called Robert Lay at SERVPRO around 4:30 pm, on a holiday weekend. Not only did they respond in a timely manner (they had a crew on site within 30 minutes), but they also did a fantastic job removing the water, raising the furniture, and installing fans to dry the floors. The owner of the building we flooded was also impressed with the quick and professional response, which in my opinion kept the incident from becoming much worse than it could have been.
