Reviews of Developer Inn Maingate, a Baymont by Wyndham
"One night stay hotel at best book d in the back. The room is ok but the refrigerator is camping size. If occupied by more than one bring the cooler. The area is sketchy. A lot of homelessness in the area. About 12 miles from the parks. Close to shopping for necessities. If staying ask for front or side rooms. The back is questionable because of homeless and partying. First night they booked me in the back. First night police cruisers and parties. Called the desk at night no answer. Had to walk to the desk and was told call the cops. Normally hotel makes a call to the room in question with a warning. In the morning I asked to be moved to the side building facing the parking lot which they did. It is much safer. Breakfast be there at 645am. After that the line is crazy and you could end up with nothing. Normal breakfast hot and cold. Not worth the price."
"Upon checking in (really long line to check in with only 1 staff member although she was very nice) we got to our room at 11pm with 2 young kids to find 3 towels, a bath mat and no wash cloths or hand towels. I tried to call front desk but no answer so back out to the long line to ask. They were able to give 2 wash cloths and put in the computer to bring us more in the morning. The next evening, we never got more. They cleaned the room and didn't even restock the towels we had. When we went to reception, they gave us 2 clean towels and had no wash cloths or hand towels. Our room was fine and clean but the sink could only put out broiling hot water not matter what I did which was a pretty big problem for my kids. I also was not happy with the breakfast. This is just our opinion bit normally powdered eggs don't bother me and here it was yucky and the oatmeal was mostly water. The coffee tasted like cardboard. Even though it was included, we went out for breakfast. There was also no Diet Coke in their convenience store. The fridge was off and we could not find a TV remote. The final straw was the guests sitting outside their room below us drinking, playing music, and talking loudly till well past midnight. I can't believe the staff didn't do anything about this. Overall we had a cheap place to sleep for 2 nights but we've been much more comfortable for the same price at many other places and we will not be back."
"Stayed there this past weekend and it appears that they have remodeled many of the rooms. Room I got was clean and had plenty of towels, but no wash cloths. Had got a comfy bed, with plenty of pillows. Breakfast was not bad at all. They do require a $100 deposit when you get your room. They advised me that they were having issues with accepting American Express so beware of that if you are going to use Amex. Staff was friendly and helpful. I would certainly return."
"First and foremost, this hotel is NOT HANDICAP FRIENDLY! My daughter is in a wheelchair and thank goodness they had a room on the first floor available. They don't have elevators. The doors also don't have a handicap buttons to push for the door to open. This place definitely needs updates. The location is great for food, parks, and needing a quick run to the store. The room was clean, but the floor was GROSS! My children and I had black socks from how dirty the floor was. The sheets felt wet from the humidity.... again, gross. The desk clerk was nice. The kitchen staff was nice but overwhelmed. The dining area is way too small for the number of people they allow in. When we attempted to walk in, there were about 75 people crammed into a 20-person place. Again, it's NOT wheelchair friendly, and they don't allow you to take your food back to your room. WHAT?!! You can't accommodate a child's wheelchair or the number of people you have so you offer your lobby? Disgusting! The bacon was undercooked and dripping with grease. I should have taken a picture. It's something you had to see to believe. Due to the hoard of people in a small space and NO ROOM TO MOVE MY DAUGHTERS WHEELCHAIR, my family and I had to sit out in the lobby to eat... THE LOBBY!!! The lady from the kitchen walks around asking for your name and room number and counts how many are in your party.... uhm what?! I've never been to a hotel where someone walks around checking who's here for food... * The photo shows the two tables in the lobby for "overflow seating. The doorway to the right is the small space they cram too many people into.* This place need to rethink how they do things as far as dining and ADA accessibility. If I stay here again, it would have to be without my handicap child."
"Me and my boyfriend stayed here. They charged us a $68 fee for maintenance of the hotel which I never ever paid at any hotel on top of the $100 deposit. The room smelled like wet dog. And the bed felt moist. It was so uncomfortable. The room service lady was so rude. They kept knocking on the door and I was in a meeting which is the reason why I couldn't open the door and they yelled to put no room service on the door which I was not provided with a do not disturb sign. The breakfast was not good the cranberry juice tasted old and they did not have enough food. Personally I would pay more to stay at a better hotel. Only good thing was the location, they were close to a lot of shops and restaurants. This is why I give this hotel a 2 star."
