"I did a ton of research and chose this shop. I got my first tattoo done by Skip. Set up a consult to make sure we were on the same page. Skip then told me his openings and then easily booked. Everyone at shop that I spoke too was super inviting and offered water etc. It looks incredible and could not have asked for better art."

"It took me 4 years to type this review, and I feel awful doing so, however, I felt as though I should warn others prior to potentially making a mistake like I did, and regret it for a lifetime. I had 3 tattoos done by the guys at 1603, two by Abdiel who has left the shop since, and one by Skip Sampson. While I loved my pieces done by Abdiel, the one done by Skip which was supposed to be a realistic rose on my tricep I whole heartedly wish I could remove. Skip chose to “free hand” that tattoo, and 4 years later still looks like a bunch of squiggly lines, and unfortunately did not lighten up enough to be easily removed by laser. I wish I had insisted on going with a stencil, but Skip chose to freehand, and also did not follow my reference work despite claiming it would be an easy job. He outlined the actual petals of the rose, which gives it no depth, and genuinely looks like an amateur tattoo that cannot be covered up due to the black outlining. Even with my horrible experience, I had referred numerous friends to Josh who does fantastic work at 1603 to this day, but when it comes to Skip, I was sadly left very disappointed."

"I took an idea of a tattoo in and Patrick helped me bring it to life. First time getting a tattoo where the result was better than the reference images. The shop is awesome inside as well. It is a great old Spanish style house which has been beautifully turned into a tattoo shop. It sounds like a tattoo shop with the machines humming and smells like a day spa. Clean, well decorated, and super clean."
