"I hate to give bad reviews, but this guy completely butchered my sons hair and hairline. I mean BAD. I told him I didn’t care what hairstyle he did but to just make him look sharp because we have a scouts event today. I didn’t have the heart to tell the guy how bad the cut was so I paid and I left and I took him to another Barber to see if it can be salvaged. But I do not recommend. I have literally never seen a worse job. And from now on, if my mom is out of town, my son can wait for a haircut until she gets home to do it. I don’t trust anyone else to do it now."
"The business closes at 2:00 PM on Saturdays. I arrived at 1:10 PM and as I entered I noticed the lights were out. An employee walks out yells "CLOSED" and begins shooing me out the door. Lost my business on the first encounter. Hope no one else encounters this lack of service."
"My husband and I went today to get hair cuts at Marvin's Barbershop on King's Highway and Ralph gave us both the best haircuts we've ever had. Be sure to ask for Ralph Payne when you go in to get a haircut there. He does a great job."
"Please note this is a true story of what happened to me at this barber shop, it's not a joke. I walked into the barber shop and observed that most of the barbers are over 60 (nothing wrong with that, unless you don't want someone over 60 cutting your hair- one of the barbers was on oxygen). I got called to a chair by an old man and sat down gave him my glasses. The old man started cutting my hair, nothing unusual happened. About 10 minutes into cutting my hair he pulled out some scissors to cut the hair on the top of my head. I said, "Those scissors are nice, they look expensive." He told me that they're 10 years old and that they were 100$ when he bought them. They hurt though, I don't care how much they cost, every snip of my hair felt like one of my hairs (not all of them) was being uprooted from my scalp. He mentioned after he was done with the scissors, "You got a little bald spot there, I can take care of that." Thinking nothing of his remark, I ignored it and sat quietly as he arduously cut my hair. Towards the end of the haircut as he was doing the finishing touches I felt something tap the back of my head slowly and move around a little, I didn't think anything of it though. Weird. Anyway, when I put my glasses on to see my hair, I didn't see anything horrible, just a quite mediocre haircut, the fade was uneven, sideburns uneven, etc. I thought, what was I expecting anyway its not horrible. He told me, "That'll be 15$, and I covered up your bald spot with my handy magic marker. It'll come right off with shampoo." I felt a burning sensation in my stomach, I was irritated, no actually i felt VIOLATED. He didn't even ask me he just took his little marker out and covered my bald spot with it! For the first time in forever, I wanted my bald spot back. I went home angry and told my family what happened and they laughed, Never will i ever set foot into this barber shop again."
"Old time barbers. Does a decent job, can get busy. Schedule and appointment to get in quickly. Only cuts hair, doesn't have time for anything else. Rapport between barbers and guests is fake and disengenuos. Don't expect to make any real friends."
