Reviews of Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve
"This organization does a wonderful job protecting Florida’s Everglades. But, they don’t stop there! They take the time to educate and explain each part of Florida’s beauty. While we were in for a visit, Barbara helped to show us around, she was so enthusiastic to explain and present everything Rookery Bay had to offer. Including the large aquarium and explaining the animals more in depth. All while taking a minute to help children use the coin funnel! Also, I think it is important to add that her name tag stated that she was a volunteer! Thank you for the visit! And I hope you enjoy a visit as well! I would recommend it!"
"Salt Life! We are so blessed to have such splendor in our midst! If you take the time to play in the bays and on the Gulf, you will find a place that you're going to call your ZEN place and there you will find God's glory!"
"Nice stop if you have time to do some hiking. We stopped here about an hour before they were going to close. There is a small museum tour exhibit about the ocean with some small touch tanks. There is another museum display about the historic indians that used to live in the area. This is mostly a bunch of hiking trails that we didn't have time to do. They lady at the front was very nice and did offer to give us a pass for the next day for free since we came in so late so we could do the trails, unfortunately we weren't going to be in the area. This was a nice stop, a bit pricey for what you get but very nicely laid out and well kept up!"
"There is NO public access via Royal Marco Way to the Rookery Bay Preserve... It dead ends at a Private Condominium Complex..."
"Beautiful place if you are into wildlife and nature. Thousands of shells on the sand so wear shoes or your feet will get a lot of small cuts. Nesting area for the Black Skimmer so walk carefully and enjoy!"
