About Us
The Alafia River Reserve, located at 4872 Indian Oak Drive in Mulberry, Florida, is a 334-acre park jointly purchased by Polk County and the Southwest Florida Water Management District. This reserve was acquired to protect the natural wetlands and uplands along the upper corridor of the Alafia River. Home to wading birds and amphibians, the primary natural community in the reserve is forested hardwood wetlands, with trees such as sweet gum, laurel oak, and sabal palms. Visitors can enjoy hiking and picnicking in this peaceful and scenic environment. For more information, you can contact the Northeast Government Center in Lake Alfred or the Board of County Commissioners in Bartow.

"This Alafia River Reserve is located at: 4872 Indian Oak Dr, Mulberry, FL 33860 It's a Nature Preserve that is a part of the Alafia River head water basin. It has nature paths to get out into the woods and river. It has Pavillions and Picnic Tables. Unfortunately, it is in dire need of attention, cleanup, and repair. The entrance to this Alafia River Preserve has a gateway that is meant to prevent large livestock like Horse and Cattle from entering, making this Alafia River Preserve NOT HANDICAPPED ♿️ FRIENDLY because Wheelchairs can't enter either !!!!"
