"I booked the Mount Dora 2 hour canal tour (10am) and it was a beautiful way to experience the lake and canal. I booked online- super easy and the next day I checked in on the dock 15 minutes early per their email instructions. I had no issues with parking but they don't have a designated lot. The town does not open early so we got to Mount Dora around 9am thinking shops would be open to walk around before the boat ride but that wasn't the case. This actually helped I think with the parking situation being so easy. They have public lots but they are not large. The staff at Rusty Anchor was friendly, the boat was clean and the ride was smooth. The boat guide points out wild life along the way to the canal (about 30 minutes) and then once in the canal you are drifting your way through old Florida. The trees are lined with moss and it's absolutely beautiful. You spend about an hour in the canal enjoying nature and it's simply relaxing. We saw an Eagle, baby alligators, turtles, all types of birds plus a sea plane land. This was worth the experience. Bring some small bills to tip the captain and guide as they are knowledgeable in the area, history and wildlife and deserve the tip."
"Had a really nice evening on this one hour sunset cruise Friday past! Mom and I came upon this dock where you could sign up. It was reasonable and nice weather. About 18-20 person on our boat. They had two boats that went out that night. They provided blankets too! It gets windy and chilly so be prepared if cool evening, bring a jacket! The tour included some interesting facts about the area. Beautiful scenery. The guys that ran the tour were really nice and did a good job! Thank you. Make sure to tip them! If you’re able to. Everyone on board look like they were enjoying themselves too! We helped others take pictures. Nice night."
"Great pontoon ride with Mark today! Very knowledgeable about the history, scenery, plants and animals in the area. Learned a lot and loads of fun! Well worth taking if you’re in the area."
"I took my mom on this tour today. She uses a cane & access was easy. Ted, our guide was great, informative, polite, professional. The pontoon boat was nice with cushioned seats, covered, blankets provided when chilly. Dora Canal was beautiful, old Florida. We had a relaxing, wonderful 2 hour tour."
"This was such a great tour. Captain David took this experience from good to AWESOME. This is a tour and learning cruise. We saw gators, various birds, beautiful homes, and outstanding scenery. David pointed out the various animals and told us about their habitats. We learned the history connected to the different lakes. We would highly recommend this tour. Well worth the price. There is a really nice woman who checks you in and answers all your questions."
