Reviews of Gadsden Park
"A Tranquil Escape to Gadsden Park, Tampa In the heart of Tampa, Florida, nestled amidst the bustling urban landscape, lies a serene haven waiting to be explored – Gadsden Park. Amidst the rhythm of raindrops and the comforting embrace of our RV, we found ourselves drawn to the gentle allure of nature, beckoning us to venture out and immerse ourselves in its beauty. As the rain whispered its soothing lullabies, we surrendered to the call of rest, allowing ourselves a well-deserved nap, cocooned within the cozy confines of our mobile sanctuary. For us, embracing the simple pleasure of a nap amidst the pitter-patter of raindrops has become a cherished ritual, a reminder to pause and rejuvenate amidst life's journey. Emerging from our slumber at 12 pm, we stepped into a world bathed in the remnants of rainfall, a testament to nature's refreshing touch. The sky, a canvas adorned with a patchwork of clouds, teased with fleeting glimpses of azure blue. Our destination awaited – Gadsden Park, a sanctuary of green nestled amidst a tapestry of old and new homes, adorned with the promise of discovery. As we approached the park's entrance, a small lake greeted us, its tranquil waters mirroring the surrounding splendor. Warning signs stood sentinel, a gentle reminder of the untamed beauty that lay within – alligators and snakes, guardians of this natural sanctuary. Despite the caution, the allure of the park beckoned us forth, promising encounters with nature's inhabitants. Embarking on the winding path encircling the lake, we found ourselves enveloped in a symphony of sights and sounds. The chirping chorus of squirrels, emboldened by human interaction, accompanied our steps, their playful antics adding a touch of whimsy to our journey. But it was the majestic ibis that truly stole the show, their elegant forms reminiscent of characters from a Jim Henson tale. With beaks akin to Gonzo, these avian wonders graced us with their presence, unperturbed by our proximity. Through the lens of my camera, I captured moments of their grace – bathing, preening, and reveling in the golden light cast upon the water's surface. As the sun emerged from behind the clouds, casting its radiant glow upon the landscape, we found ourselves enchanted by the beauty that surrounded us. At that moment, amidst the tranquil embrace of nature, we were reminded of the profound joy that comes from simply being present in the moment, attuned to the wonders that lie just beyond our doorstep. Our excursion to Gadsden Park was a testament to the boundless beauty that awaits those who dare to explore. With each step, we were reminded that adventure lies not in the distance traveled, but in the willingness to embrace the beauty that surrounds us, even in our own backyard. So, to all who yearn for adventure, I extend an invitation – to venture forth, explore, and discover the hidden gems that await just beyond your doorstep. Whether it's a tranquil park nestled amidst the urban landscape or a hidden oasis waiting to be uncovered, let curiosity be your guide and nature your muse. Join us on our journey as we continue to uncover the wonders of the world around us. Follow along on Facebook and Instagram as we share our adventures and invite you to join us in embracing the beauty of nature, one step at a time. "Nice and spacious park that’s wide open for running room. 3 divided sections in the dog park allow you to distance yourself from other groups of dogs which is helpful. Also has a scenic walking trail throughout if the dog park isn’t your thing. Grassy fields surrounding trail system and baseball fields are also available and have shade in half the areas for hot days. Covered picnic areas also provide a nice spot to eat. The major downside to this park is the people/groups who show up and do not manage theirs dogs, which often leads to fights..."
"The park is in disrepair. As I was traveling from out of town and didn't have a bowl for water, one feature I was excited to use was to doggie water fountain... but it was broken. The surface is very sandy and difficult to walk on. It was hard to keep up with my dog to make sure everything was okay. I did meet some nice people and their dogs. And there is a hose at the sally port so I could rinse off my dog. I might go back just cos the park is large and my dog had plenty of room to run. But be prepared to be disappointed with the park itself."
"Awesome park to just take a good walk on a beautiful day. Lots of pets and their owners are always willing to share a story. There are a few baseball fields as well. My¹ son plays games here regularly. We enjoy watching the planes from the Air Force base fly by."
"I love this park. I love that they have a pond which does have an alligator so beware. But it's a very nice path around the pond which is always clean. This is a very clean park. They do have other sides of the park which has two dog parks. They have I believe two baseball fields. So for people who like to play baseball and things. Otherwise it's a very nice path to walk to run and to bike and bring your dog. On the path itself doesn't have a lot of shade. But off the path there are a lot of trees with a lot of shade. If you're going to bring your dog to walk on the hot pavement please bring them water. Or at least bring them to the shaded dog park. There are also exercise stations. Check your local listings at times there are events at the park. Also what I really love about this park is that they have a lot of dragonflies. And you may be wondering why that is such a huge deal. Well it's amazing because they eat all the mosquitoes. And as many times as I have been to the park I have not gotten bitten by a mosquito. I love dragonflies. Great for sunrise and sunset walking/running."
