"We went there midday Friday to have lunch at the covered picnic pavilion near the playground equipment. We thought it was beautiful but the first thing we noticed was a guy on the only tube slide on the equipment. When he saw us get out of the car with our lunch he slunk back down into the tube. A creeper being creepy. The park must have cost a small fortune to build because everything is top notch. It's unfortunate that it's in such a bad part of town. I would not go there alone with my children. It would be a great place to take the family, with your husband, to have a barbecue at the covered pavilion and let the kids play on beautiful playground equipment because the covered picnic pavilion has a water spigot, a grill, and a trash can. After we ate lunch we walked the path through the trees which circled back to the playground area. It's about a half a mile loop. There are lots of beautiful trees and native plants. I saw quite a few butterflies and a big patch of pokeweed that had fruit on it that the birds were eating. It was nice to see the natural areas they had left. I did use the restroom because I just couldn't wait. There was toilet paper and the toilet had recently been cleaned, but there was no soap or paper towels. It was grungy and there were places all along the wall that looked like somebody had stubbed out a joint on. Luckily I had alcohol in the car and sterilized my hands. A Park employee came when we were there and switched out the garbage bag at the pavilion because it was overflowing. It seems to be well taken care of but they mowed a lot of trash and it looked junkie in the areas they did that in. We didn't make it to the boardwalk or the water area so I can't say anything about that, but the entrance we went in was really pretty and we enjoyed ourselves. I would not go there by myself because there are people hanging out doing drugs and homeless people occasionally walking through."
"The playground is ok, no shade. There is alot of room for soccer and hiking or biking. Theres a nice water restoration area to walk through with lots of birds and wildlife. Its also very sunny. There are basketball courts too. Avoid the restrooms, homeless population habitates this park. Great for dogs on lease. There is a large screened pavilion and one smaller one."

"Cute Small playground has a great party pavilion with fans along with a huge open grass field behind it for outdoor games such as baseball, soccer etc. and a great walking trek to run or walk for every day exercising... down side - some people just don't care about property and have started to graffiti the inside of the pavilion."
