Pasture Reserve

"Quiet and quaint with low traffic volumes passing by. You can stand in the parking lot and hear silence. There grounds are beautiful and there is a basic public access restroom with Men's and Women's being separated. There are no pets allowed, equestrian is the closest allowable. Rules are clearly posted."

"We love this place for hiking. Very disappointed that fire either control burn or wild had destroyed a lot of the beautiful pine trees. The trail was chewed up from large vehicles. So sad. This place, remote, but a quiet escape."

"The paths are mowed roads through the high grass. It's like walking on your mowed lawn. I think it could be accessible to a wheelchair with front wheels at least 6" OD. I heard, but did not see, several bird species, which was my subject for photography. I think I will return in the fall for the song birds. There is little shade, aside from a few stands of trees every once in a while, so take sunscreen, bug spray, water and a hat. As of this review, July 3, 2020, the bathrooms are closed. I lost my cell phone signal a couple hundred yards from the parking lot, so take a picture of the trails at the trailhead. I didn't see any paper maps. All in all, it's a nice walk with several loops. No pets allowed!"

"It was raining when we came here to geo-cache, but I shall return soon! Did you know... The Pasture Reserve is located in the ❤ of the Florida aquifer, in the middle of the Green Swamp, which is an area of critical concern for the state! It was such a pleasant drive to get here, as it is still very rural. Please follow the speed limits and use caution, as there is so much wildlife used to running around out here you might miss the sight of it... yet, hit it with your car. As with all Lake County parks of my experience, the bathrooms were well kept and the landscape was tidy with native vegetation throughout."
