"For a patch of grass without a single tree, obstacle, or any other amenities, it sure does get closed for maintenance a lot"
"Remember, if you’re 18 years old, you can die for your country, but you can’t take your dog to a park in the villages come on"
"The well manicured lawns are more reminiscent of a golf course than anything remotely enjoyable for a dog or owner. Would be nice to have shaded grass…aka a tree in the area that’s actually for dogs. This is Florida, and serious heat is a year-round thing. Not everything needs to look like a golf course. It’s obvious that nobody with a role in the overall design has a dog that wouldn’t fit in a purse. I continue to be amazed at his the villages is designed to actively discourage kids and grandchildren from visiting. It “looks nice” but is subtly aggressive when you consider the actual needs of dogs and their owners. Would have been friendlier for dogs if they did nothing. I want to end on a positive note, so at least the water fountain works"
"I prefer Dudley Canine Park because it’s a bit smaller and has exercise equipment for the dogs (that few dogs use, but the equipment still breaks up the landscape), but Rupert is also a very nice dog park. It has shade from trees (on the small dog side) and a pavilion. Our grand-dog, Tucker, loves both dog parks. Pic is of Tucker enjoying the shade."
"Large and small dog parks with water and bags for clean-up. Nicely maintained. Some of the large dog owners should not bring their pups to the park if they are known to be aggressive. Overall, a very nice dog park."
