About the Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway Park
The Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway Park is a unique and diverse institution located at 8282 Southeast Highway 314 in Ocala, Florida, United States. This park is part of one of the nation's largest incomplete public works projects, now transformed into a 110-mile linear park spanning Central Florida from the Gulf of Mexico to the St. Johns River.
Covering more than 70,000 acres of land formerly known as the Cross Florida Barge Canal, the Greenway offers over 300 miles of trails for paddling, hiking, mountain biking, equestrian activities, and paved multi-use paths. It is also a wildlife corridor, with a "land bridge" across a major interstate that both trail users and wildlife utilize. Black bears are known to use the Greenway as a major corridor, especially near the Ocala National Forest.
The Greenway also protects segments of the Ocklawaha River and offers campgrounds for visitors to enjoy. With its diverse trails and unique wildlife experiences, the Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway Park provides a one-of-a-kind outdoor experience for all who visit.

Reviews of Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway Park
"There are about 5+ miles of paved trails here barhrooms and a playground. The trails are very nice and consist of three loops with connectors. Also google maps may take you to the maintenance facility the park is on a main road called Baseline road, Marjorie Harris Carr Baseline road trailhead is what to search for. One review mentions 15 miles of tral it is not here and maybe should have been a 1.5 mile loop as perhaps the first loop is. Trying to help as we traveled here expecting a rails to trails type ride."
"Wonderful park full of wide paved trails for walking, running or biking, dog friendly, child playground, nature trails for bird watching or cross state hiking with markers, encouraging signs and benches for resting. No water on trails so bring a water bottle and enjoy."
"The Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway is the epitome of what a bike trail should be.The asphalt blacktop looks newly paved and is almost perfectly smooth the entire 15+ mile ride. It is plenty wide for two way traffic and passing with lots of nice curves and some hills passing through some truly beautiful woodlands in Central Florida just outside of Ocala. Wildlife abounds along its entire length. An added bonus is the 100's of miles of mountain bike trails that intersect along its length in many places. It is super well maintained and marked throughout on the pavement for any emergency that may need reporting. There are only a couple of road crossings with the majority being underpasses and a very unique overpass over Interstate 75. Anywhere there is a blind corner there are large round cornering mirrors and signs to notify you to slow appropriately. There are water and toilet facilities at the Santos Trailhead and further down their is an equestrian campground that also has accessible facilities. If you plan for a down and back ride it is a great workout and make sure to bring some hydration. A large part of the ride is shaded but there is enough sun exposure to warrant sunscreen. All and all, this is a top teir bike trail and worth the drive to get there if you have to travel. Truly My New Favorite Bike Trail! Highly Recommended!!!"
"Great family park, things for all ages to do. If you want to host a birthday party make sure to either make reservations or check to see that you party doesn't collide with another reservation. Very popular and active park!"
"Every time I go back home I take a walk with the family down this greenway. It's great for hiking and biking. The paved trails are well kept and a nice ride on a road bike, but the plethora of dirt trails allow for a fun ride as well. Highly recommend visiting during the blackberry season. They make for great snacks as you're out exploring."
