"This forest is top notch! It has everything. Pine stands, prairies, oak hammocks, literally everything you need for a serene walk/ride through nature. Need to forget about the craziness of life for a few hours? Head out to the hiking trail and reconnect with yourself and nature in the process. Beautiful, pristine, the REAL Florida!"
"Lot's of wildlife due to all the exponential growth these days. Home construction is up 42%. These poor animals are loosing their homes. Where are the Marion county commisioners? I have several bears and wild turkeys, as well as other wildlife in this area."
"Really enjoyed this short hike at one of the stops (#8) on/in the Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway. The trail is very well marked with blue blazes and hiking signs so there is little chance of getting lost. The trail was flat and narrow with some low overhead limbs but nothing to climb over. Seems to be a good trail for fitness hiking."
"Visited the park today to complete the trail that is part if the Trailwalker Program through the Florida State Forest. The park did have a sign that was posted that said high bear activity. I had my bear spray and bear whistle however others at the park didn't seem too concerned. This is a very well kept park and we saw quite a few other people. Overall a great park and I highly recommend it!"
"Beautiful State Park with miles of hiking, mountain biking and equestrian trails. The campground is small but quiet. Water and electric at every campsite. Very clean restrooms and showers. Dumping on site. Short drive to restaurants and a Walmart store. Worth visiting for a few days or a day trip."
