Reviews of Bird Creek Beach
"Beautiful, well maintained place to launch your boat, hang out on a small beach or park like setting. Very clean with gorgeous views!!"
"2024-02-08: This is a very small parking lot with a view of the Gulf. The "beach" is just a small section of sandy shoreline, not the white sand like some of the major Florida's beaches. There are a few covered picnic tables, but there are trees obstructing the view of the Gulf. The water is very shallow and I have seen a few people launch kayaks here. There are two "Porta Potties." This is a nice place to view sunsets. If there is no breeze, the No-seums can be overwhelming."
"The beach area did well through the hurricane. The pavilions and tables are still there. They have porta johns for restrooms (were very clean for portajohns when I was there), and parking is still the same (good). The only difference is the BBQ grills are gone so bring your own if you want to cook out. Otherwise, it's nice and is a favorite of mine to just go and relax."
"We visited Bird Creek Beach on a weekday in January 2024. It was nice, but probably too cool for most folks to want to do the beach thing. It was a small little (what looked like it was) man made beach. But it was kind of nice being small. It had a nice view of the surrounding water of what I think is called Withlacoochee Bay on the gulf. The beach itself could use some maintenance. I guess the whole facility could use some upkeep. But, it was not all that bad. The pavilion area had a couple of BBQ grills. I think there were three picnic tables, that I think were made of concrete construction. But they were sheltered overhead. I think it was three sheltered tables that shared the two BBQ grills between them. Probably not the nicest facility. But again, it was not all that bad. I'm thinking that it could cause problems if there were more people than available tables and such. So maybe have a back up plan just in case. There were two porto potties near the pavilion area, when we visited. One of them looked to be handicap accessible. We did not go inside them, so I will not comment on the condition of them. We visited in early afternoon for a bit. There were only a couple of folks there at the same time, and no one in the water or laying on the beach. But to be fair, it was a little cool for that. But when warmer, this probably isn't a bad little spot. Although I guess that depends on how many others have the same idea. It does seem like it would be great place to watch the sun set over the gulf. We were not spending that much time at Bird Creek beach for that. But I bet it would be nice."
"Nice views for sure. Not much beach area, ony 60 feet long maybe. One portable toilet picnic area in poor condition, almost impossible to see the beautiful gulf views, sunsets from the picnic area because of overgrown trees etc., but never very busy and again great views from small beach area. Like I stated if the shoreline was cleaned up a little, this would be a great little picnic beach area."
