About the Silver Springs State Park, Campground and Museum Entrance
Silver Springs State Park, Campground and Museum Entrance is a popular destination located at 1425 Northeast 58th Avenue in Ocala, Florida, United States. Visitors can explore the park's famous glass bottom boats to see an underwater world in one of America's largest springs. Surrounded by serene gardens and historic structures, the main spring offers a glimpse into the past when Silver Springs was a major destination for travelers arriving by steamship. The park is also home to the annual Springsfest, celebrating the protection and restoration of Florida's springs and waterways.
Please note that as of March 5, 2024, the Half Mile Creek Trail and Fort King Paddle Trail are partially closed for boardwalk construction. Additionally, new restroom facilities are being built near the paddle craft launch area, with the day use picnic area closed for construction. Cabin furniture provided includes one queen mattress and two twin mattresses, but visitors should bring additional accommodations if needed.
The Silver River, accessible by trails and friendly campgrounds, allows kayakers to experience a primeval forest wilderness surrounded by well-managed sandhills. Lucky paddlers may even spot manatees during their adventure at Silver Springs State Park. Follow signs, cones, and instructions from park staff as vehicles may be rerouted due to ongoing construction. Thank you for your patience as we work to improve our facilities for your enjoyment.

Reviews of Silver Springs State Park, Campground and Museum Entrance
"Silver Springs has many miles of park to enjoy. This is not the main entrance which is known for glass bottom boats. Depending on where you are in the park you may come across monkeys. There are several stories on where the monkeys came from including that a guy tried to open a wildife ride and stocked an island but the monkeys learned to swim and escaped. I also heard monkeys were brought in for a Tarzan movie and escaped. Either way there are several colonies of wild monkeys that roam the Silver Springs park area!"
"Great park with lots of adventure activities! There are trials for walking, horse and even kayak! The glass vessel boat is awesome where you can see over fishes and alligators! It is dog friendly and there is also service station! You can also buy foods!"
"Heaven on earth cabin stay. Absolutely the best porch and spiritual vibration all around. Best cabin in a State Park!!! The trails were magical. I was able to see monkeys and manatees right from the trail walking distance from my cabin. The springs are surreal. I can't wait to return. Thank you for allowing my soul to center and perhaps having found the answers much needed in my life."
"A must-see destination. Our boat Captain was very knowledgeable. We saw so much wildlife and learned many films were made here."
"A truly beautiful place to visit. It shows a diverse array of landscape. When I went part of the trail was closed and under construction but what I did see was breathtaking. It was the clearest blue water I'd ever seen with my own eyes. The wildlife was unbelievable I saw a black crane, white heron, a monkey, schools of fish, a small alligator. My fiancee and I paid $2 each just to take a walking tour but they have glass bottom boat rides you can take a tour on, they also have kayak rentals and you can bring your own kayaks. Go during the week to have it practically to yourself."
