"Wonderful surprise while I was on a gravel bike ride (I walked my bike on trail - you are NOT allowed to ride on this trail.). I was exploring the fantastic Cow Creek Road and Black Prong Road and came upon this boardwalk trail. The trail is short, flat and easy to walk with many signs indicating the area wildlife. That 900-year old Cypress Tree is amazing but makes you a bit sad to realize how few of these giants still exist in Florida. Go and soak up its majesty in the quiet of nature."
"Absolutely stunning 900 year old cypress tree. There is a short unimproved trail from the parking area that leads to a well maintained boardwalk that ends at the big cypress tree with a large decked overlook. The walk is beautiful and all natural, although we didn't see much wildlife you have the distinct feeling wildlife is very close. Long drive back from sr 121 not too bad though take your time."
"Such an awesome tree. Wish they wouldn't have cut the rest down so long ago. There's plenty of signs to get there. It's off 121."
"I love my state and it’s forest. I have posted about the Goethe Giant before but am posting again. This is one of my favorite places to go when I need a break from the world. It’s a 4 mile drive back to the tree and it’s bumpy so please go slow. Also go slow for the little critters who may cross your path while driving,I did. Today was one of them days that I needed my woods badly. There is no healing like that of Mother Earth."
"What a great off the beaten path lil gem! Today was my 1st time & was very neat to see up close. The path leading up to the tree was nice as well. Only giving 4 stars due to maintenance of signs & front sign missing poster inside, trash can loaded full up front & no bathroom area if necessary. Great experience otherwise!! Gotta love those FL noseeums too lol"
