Reviews of Tarkiln Bayou Preserve State Park
"with 2 options of light and moderate trails, little frequented and very calm"
"This is a hidden gem. It has a nice 1 mile walk that is paved or on a boardwalk. Great for kids, strollers, and wheel chairs. They have these neat QR codes along the trail you can scan for cool info about plants and animals. They also have traditional signs if you don't have your phone. They also have 4 benches on the walk spaced out. They also have an unpaved 7 mile hike but we didn't go on that since the boys are only 4."
"A bit chilly today. The pitcher plans were not in bloom as figured. Still the short one mile round trip path provides a lovely hike. The path is covered in wood or concrete."
"Sign says two trails: 1 mile and 7.2 mile. We took the one mile. Boardwalk trail out and back. Was able to take a wheelchair. The sign for the trail says “loop” but it isn’t. Interactive scan signs along the trail can be quite entertaining for children. View of the lake at the end."
"There is a two trails 1 mile and about 7 miles. We took short one. It is a nice very clean paved path to the lake. It is forth and back way. The forest is not giving a lot of shade so wear hats and take some water. There is a small parking lot, you can pay for it by cash (3$ per car) or online."
