"If I could give 0 stars I would. I came in there for a cut with a client of mine when there was no one waiting. Sat down like you do in a traditional barbershop waiting for my cut for like 20-30 min watching 2 ppl with their children get cut before me and my friend. I didn’t want to make a scene because it was literally like two under 9 year old children. Then a guy at the desk calls over my client, not me. And then the guy proceeds to say did you (mind you I’m standing right there, totally ignored me) come for a cut. Since I’m responsible for my client I said yes WE came in here about 20-30 min ago when there was no one waiting. He says the dumbest thing, “oh I thought you guys just came in and sat down”. In a barbershop really…. who comes to a barbershop to sit down. Then he says you gotta come in and speak to me and put your name on the list. He said it like they do that in every shop, clearly I came in and sat down awaiting for my cut like every other shop. If you are the front desk man seeing me come in you should have said something. He just watched me come in and sit down knowing their rules ain’t like how it is in every shop. That’s why stores greet customers. He didn’t say a word to us. The funny thing about it is it says Expert service on the door. The service here is trash. And I don’t want to stoop low to say they are racist but they made up their mind the moment I walked in that I didn’t exist. The barbers didn’t hint to me anything everyone had did dumb blank look on their face. It was spooky. I don’t recommend anyone going here unless it’s your last resort. Carl and his staff are disgusting when it come to service."

"Been a client to this place for over 10 years. Both Ramon and Sal have cut my hair and beard in the past and know me. This place is always awesome at delivering great experience for a good value in a nice atmosphere. A place where men can just disconnect. This time it was different. Walked in and asked for both of previous barbers (one was busy, the other was off) and was invited to seat at #13 with Angie. Might have been 11 and she has another name. But it was next time Ramon and they were 2 ladies cutting hair at the moment and the other was next time the cashier. As soon as i introduced myself, i cracked a joke about her knowing how to cut a balding mans head. She either didn't get it or didn't like it. But it was downhill from that point on. Her attitude was reactive, irritable and defensive. As if she didnt want to be there. Went by my head with the speediness of someone who wants to get it over with and not deliver a good product. A few minutes into it I had to stop her to clear the air cause i couldnt handle someone with that attitude using sharp scissors and blades on my head and face. There was no trust built. She made 0 effort to gain my trust and make me feel i was in the right hands. Other passive agressive stuff happened which made the whole experience just one to forget. At the end when i was asking for her opinion on what we could do (thats a big thing for me and barbers, they are the pros they know the tricks) she would only say "i do what you tell me to do". It happens that she was texting with some "friend" called Annete (she left her whatsapp open for me to read while in the chair) complaining about me as a customer and there was Annettes recommendation to "tell me" that she was going to charge more if I continued to act out. I might have mis-assumed that Annete was the cashier, i dont know and frankly dont care because she kept looking in that direction and rolling her eyes throughout the haircut. Ended up paying $38 for cut and beard but this was not the same thorougness for other times ive been there. Then! When i went to pay and share my complaint with the cashier as means to improve the overall service of a business i respect. Well she also happened to be defensive about it and tell me that I could have stood up whenever i wanted. I know that. Im just expressing that i have never felt that way, with such animosity and bad vibes from a barber. Apologies for this eternal rant. This place is great most of the times, i believe i just struck the wrong chord with the wrong female barber and management decided to side with her instead of a paying customer. So this me sharing my un-appreciation for the experience and wondering if you're going to do anything to bring me back as a customer or let me walk away with a bitter aftertaste"

"Been a loyal patron of Carl’s Barber Shop for over 7 years. I get my haircut with Ray and he is the absolute best! I also from time to time go to Mario or any of the other guys at the shop and they take care of me. Would not get my haircut anywhere else. Family friendly environment, great guys, and great service. 10/10!"

"I have been going to Carl's for many years. In the past I usually had a different barber each time due to high turnover. Several cuts ago I discovered Kevin who has taken care of me each time since with excellent service. The Retro Decor is nice but service is what matters most and Kevin delivers in spades!!!"
