"I was a client of Amanda Simon for about one year. Sadly, she lacks the ability to communicate properly with her clients. She has no professional service menu with prices. She can be unreliable when it comes to appointments and can cancel on you last minute when you least expect it, even after confirmation. Her coloring services are inconsistent. I can say most of the time my hair cut and keratin treatments came out great, but several times the color saturation was poor. I could still see my grays (and my roots were lighter than my ends) and within two weeks it was like I had nothing done at all. When I honestly spoke up about it, I was invalidated, and kicked out of her practice. Her artist temperament couldn’t handle being critiqued? There’s no talking to her, or explaining how you feel, she will delete you from her practice without so much as a phone conversation. I always paid her well, and tips,and was really nice to her. My etiquette and demeanor was completely nice at all times and respectful. Her whole motto was beauty shouldn’t be painful to your wallet, but when I checked around her services weren’t any more or less than the average salon in our area. FYI my daughter went to her for some highlights and they were completely uneven and we never even said a word. She’d like to believe she’s so great, but it’s hit or miss. Don’t expect her to speak with you in person,she will simply tell you not to come in via text and that’s the end of it. Really??? So unprofessional . So very disappointing. Completely uncalled for and I’m really sad that this happened, because I thought she was a really nice person. Rather than fixing the problem, she turns mean.Maybe it is all about is money? My daughter would say two wrongs don’t make it right.( like leaving a poor review) I will never know if it was money or her temperament,prolly both???because she would never call me to discuss it, and up until the time she said don’t come( an hour before our appt.) I thought everything was just fine. People are human we all make mistakes. Apparently some forgive, and some ghost. Losing your hair stylist last minute before a big event was so uncalled for and up until then she had never, ever said anything to me about it. Thats on her, not me. I never asked for any freebies, I always paid for whatever she asked for. Maybe if she had a real menu of prices you wouldn’t have to feel like you’re negotiating every time you go in to get something done. All of a sudden she went from being affordable to nickel and diming every little thing. She really changed over the year I knew her when it came to that. “ I always felt like I was walking on eggshells” just to tell her something was amiss. I got the stink eye and kicked out…… bottom line, I thought the world of her, but she is a mean girl. And just like most people these days she’s just out for herself, and her sweetness is a ruse."
