"Never have I ever felt so disrespected by a business before. I have a medical issue that requires me to need the assistance of a service dog. I had walked by the salon and decided to go in to make an appointment. Before I could even open the door, a very rude lady started walking quickly to the door shaking her finger and saying no. I opened the door and she immediately said that they didn’t allow dogs. I told her that my dog was a trained service dog and that she was legally allowed anywhere that I was and that denying me entry was illegal. That rude lady just kept saying that they didn’t allow dogs even if they were “emotional support” dogs, while continuing to keep her hand in my face, and I again explained to her that my dog was NOT an emotional support dog but was a service dog. My dog was fully vested with patches that clearly stated that she was a service dog and that entry was allowed By law NO EXCEPTIONS. The lady stated that she understood that my dog was a service dog but the owner didn’t allow dogs. I calmly told her that I was going to have to call the police because what she was doing was ILLEGAL. She basically said whatever and shut the door. I contacted the police department and they sent out a deputy. The deputy apologized for any inconvenience that I was facing and went to tell the business that what they had done was illegal. They lied and told the police officer that they “didn’t understand” that she was a service dog and they were just “confused by the vocabulary”. I will not come to this salon and I hope that any person with a disability that has a service dog is not refused service and disrespected the way that me and my own service dog were. I will be reporting this establishment to the A.D.A and I hope that they will learn from this mistake."
