High Point YMCA: Y Without Walls

"I signed my daughter up for soccer classes. showed up to class and I was told by the gentleman at the front desk that coach Carlos was not gonna “come in today”. I understood and told the gentleman to please have the coach call me so he can formally explain. Two hours later I heard nothing. I called the ymca to have the gentleman remind the coach to call me. Never heard back. Second Saturday comes around and my daughter and I show up to soccer practice. The same gentleman is there telling me the same thing. At this point I’m extremely frustrated because no one even thinks about giving me a courtesy call to not waste my morning coming here. I ask the gentleman to please get the coach on the phone because I wanted to talk to him. He calls him and the coach replies that he’s not able to talk to me because he was not on the clock. I left extremely frustrated. Money wasted on soccer class. Money wasted on cleats. Money wasted on chin guards. And time wasted twice on showing up. If you’re reading this coach Carlos, do yourself a favor and do your job as the director of that YMCA. be courteous enough to advise ppl who have registered for classes and let them know classes have been cancelled so no more money or time is wasted. Don’t lie and tell your front desk person that you’ll “call ” when you don’t. Learn your role and have the decency to take calls from the members of your ymca when you’re not “ON THE CLOCK”. That doesn’t even sound right when myfamily and I showed up for soccer practice and you DIDNT. You should be on the clock. I expect to hear back from you ASAP."

"My daughter has gone to this summer camp two years in a row. I was walking my daughter into the building and as I got closer I seen a bunch of kids sitting around the camp counselor and she was reading the kids a book. I thought that was absolutely incredible. The kids love this lady. She's so sweet and you can tell she really enjoys her job. It is definitely worth sharing.. its something that made me proud.."

"I have two little girls I'm a single father they said I can't walk my girls in men's locker room because of naked men taking a shower I said thanks for the warning will use a gate they said we will not unlock the gates for you she will take them through the girls restroom where you can see naked girls taking a shower I don't want my kids seeing that either I suggest open the gate and we can walk in and out from there they stated we cannot unlock the gates. talk about safety concerns what if there's an emergency and the only way out is the gate if you don't have the key then how are you supposed to save lives Gates should be easy access for anyone to get in and out these are children! you're supposed to have a family locker room where no one sees anything when dealing with children isn't that a law? But they said that was my only option otherwise we weren't allowed to go for swimming lessons so you want to force my kids to see naked people or we can't go swimming this is a sick place!"
