"It is truly disappointing that the GTSA does not adapt to the realities of the diverse families of the children they are supposed to serve. They could start by developing flexible rates that accommodate those children who can only attend swimming lessons a certain percentage of the time since the parents have shared custody. Currently, GTSA charges the full rate regardless of whether the child attends swimming lessons 10%, 50% or 100% of the time. That limits the ability of families with modest incomes to enroll their children. In the end, many children are not enrolled and GTSA fails in its community mission. Another example of the GTSA's failure is that in the case of separated parents, they only allow one party, be it the father or the mother, to manage the account, make changes and authorize payments. This means that if one party wants to economically harm the other, it can do so without any obstacles. The GTSA thus becomes complicit in malevolent and malicious actions. This is the case that my husband is experiencing, since his ex-wife has no qualms about authorizing unnecessary and destructive charges for the economy of our home. In the current inflationary times we live in, every dollar counts. It's something that GTSA administrators don't seem to care about. Especially Todd & Tammy Hofmeier who have not only been rude in their treatment but have also threatened my husband with legal action if he made complaints to the state of Florida or left a negative comment on Google. Completely reprehensible as an attitude and behavior on the part of these administrators. Until the GTSA corrects these practices, it can be said to FAIL and FAIL in its mission of service to Tampa's swimmer kids."
"My son is out of state for a whole month so I asked GTSA if they could suspend billing for a month. Todd @ Tammy Hofmeier refused. I had also asked if they could pro-rate billing since my son can only attend the swimming sessions 2 weeks out of every month due to shared custody limitations (I live 40 miles from the GTSA pool @ Del Rio). They also refused on the ground that it wouldn't be fair to other families in the same predicament. They didn't bother asking themselves if they could offer pro-rated rates to these other families. My son went to Seal Swim before joining GTSA and Seal Swim was very accommodating in that respect. What surprised me the most though was that when I told them I would file a complaint with the state, they resorted to threats immediately. Here is the verbatim: ". I would like to speak to you before I call our lawyer with your threats as this is not acceptable to file a complaint with no grounds." So GTSA considers my filing of a complaint with the state of Florida to be a 'threat' and they then proceed to literally threaten me with litigation should I proceed forward with my complaint."
"I can’t say enough wonderful things about the GTSA swim program. My daughter started swimming with this program a few years ago and because of the coaches, the way they run everything and the friends she has made, she fell in love with swimming. She has progressed quickly, learned how to swim properly and she is competitive with her peers at age 13. The coaches are professional and truly know how to coach each child individually. They love the kids and put their heart and soul into these children’s lives and the program. The program is affordable and worth every penny and more. The pool is well kept and heated in the winter when needed. It is close to MacDill AFB and very convenient if you are military. Thank you GTSA for a job well done."
"Can not say enough good things about GTSA. I was very impressed with the organization from a communication stand point all the way up to the amazing staff and coaches. My daughter started at the beginner level last June with no experience at all in swimming. Within 1 year she had moved up to the senior group. During that time she received a tremendous amount of encouragement and support from all of her coaches. The coaches were great and made the practices fun for the kids. We recently had to relocate out of the state and we were so sad to leave the club. I strongly recommend GTSA for swimmers of any level. You will not be disappointed."
"Highly recommend this team. Coach Guerby is exactly what my child needed. He’s motivating and makes swim fun. The kids love and respect him. Coach Todd also well regarded."
