"Terrible experience and even worse customer response and support. I'm pretty sure they're out of business because they're not answering their phones and the answering message has changed from Backyard Designs to a default message. Doesn't surprise me. They took 6 months to do a 3 month job and that's with me having to stay on top of them and drive the schedule and deliverables every week. The enclosed fence installers punched a hole through the plumbing on my water feature with a lag bolt. The back wall looks like trash and that's after they allegedly fixed it twice and repainted it. They crushed my french drain that I just had installed the 8 months prior even after I pointed it out to them and asked them to ensure they didn't damage it. I'll say their PM tried to come out and remedy it but now I've got a caved in yard where they dug it up to reconnect it. They left plaster on the metal door and other places and never cleaned it up properly. The only redeemable employee they had was a woman named Samantha who used to answer the phone and definitely tried to support her clients. You could tell she was defeated though and was fighting an uphill battle. I used to have to spend my lunch hour driving to their main office off of 17 to get them to take action and own up to items waiting to be done. I'm sure the company was just as mismanaged as their clients and projects were resulting in them being out of business. It's great that I've got a pool installed by a company less than 8 months ago that now has gone out of business. Beware of this company should they open their doors anywhere else."

"I reached out to Backyard Designs for an outdoor kitchen refresh project. I had previously worked with the company approximately 12 years ago when I moved to the area, so I wanted to work with someone I knew and with whom I had previous experience. When calling their office on June 1, I was connected with Jared to assist me. Jared and I set a date for an onsite meeting at my home of June 13 at 2:00 PM. He confirmed the meeting with a follow up email. On June 13, Jared arrived at my home early and we began a very productive meeting. Since I am a repeat customer, Jared had access to previous drawings, services provided, etc. At the conclusion of the meeting, Jared left my home and told me I would receive a project estimate “Monday or Tuesday of (the) next week”. And that is the last time I’ve spoken to Jared. Since then, I’ve reached out to Jared on two occasions inquiring into the status of my proposal (emails dated 6/27 and 7/7). I have reached out to the company headquarters at least 4 times inquiring into the status of my proposal. In my most recent email communication with Jared, I simply asked, “Are you and your company going to be providing me with an estimate for the backyard refresh? Would you please give me the courtesy of a response so that I can find and arrange another vendor for the service if Backyard Designs is not interested in the project” No response. I have reached out to the company headquarters asking for assistance. The office manager/receptionist that I’ve spoken to is very pleasant and knowledgeable. When asked if the company had so much business they were turning work away, she said “no”. When raising my matter to the owner, she informed me the owner would speak to Jared. I called Monday July 10 and she informed me Jared was in the office and I would get a return call shortly. That return call came from the office manager indicating that Jared had just a couple of things to pull together and I would be getting the project estimate I have been expecting. As of today, July 28, I have not received a return call or the promised project proposal/estimate. After waiting 6 weeks, I have decided to move on. Other than the office manager, Communication, Responses, Accountability and Responsibility seem to be missing. I am sure Joe Holder, the previous owner, would have treated a repeat customer differently."

"My review is not because I used this company’s services but I just want to point out a star that I truly hope Backyard Designs, Inc know they have! I had the pleasure of communicating with Tanner Sciarratta in reference to an opportunity at the company that I was interested in. Tanner was extremely professional, patient and exhibited outstanding communication with me. Based on this interaction alone I would recommend doing business with them. I felt welcomed, assisted and treated like I mattered! I hope this review finds who it needs to because Tanner absolutely set the bar high and should be recognized for an excellent job well done!"
