Reviews of Oh My Gosh Brigadeiros
"Let me start off by saying that these desserts are beyond delicious. Very unhealthy, obviously, but very, very delicious. I have been visiting their Miracle Mile (original) store since they opened years ago and I had never had the terrible experience I had on 12/20. I went to get a panettone, and then I saw a cake that I felt like buying in the moment. I asked if it was ready because I was in a bit of a rush. Worker #1 told me that it was ready, that it would only take 10minutes to decorate it. I could wait 10minutes so I paid for it and waited. And waited. And waited. Twenty five (25) minutes went by, both workers were in their baking room at the back, the front of the store was sans employee even though there was a total of 5 customers waiting, 11:30am today, check your cameras :). They came out to give orders to 2 people that arrived after me (who had ordered cakes, too). Worker #2 asked “who’s next?” and I said I was, even though I was also ahead of the other 2 customers they had already taken care of. I explained I was in a rush, that 25 minutes had gone by, and that worker #1 had mentioned it would only be 10minutes, that I was very late for work, and I needed to go. So she tells me, angrily, that 25mins had NOT gone by. I said yes, and offered to show her my receipt for the payment so she could see the time when I paid and do the math herself, but she would not look at the receipt (because it would be the proof that I had in fact been waiting for more than twice the promised time). Then, she offered/threatened to cancel the cake order, and reimburse me, but I said that I had already waited for 25minutes, why would I cancel then!? So, she said that they are very busy and that I would just have to wait for longer. She did not offer a time frame for my reference. I could see that they were very busy, no doubt about that. But she could have simply apologized for her co-worker’s “10minute” unkept promise. After our discussion on my waiting time, where she refused to see the time on my receipt for her reference, I asked her what her name was and she said: “Esther, I’m the owner.” Then she said (verbatim): “I don’t need customers like you.” Little does she know that I am not only a repeat customer but have been a loyal customer for *years*. Since they opened and did the instagram giveaways to drive public to their store (remember?) If I’m not the type of customer she needs, I wonder what type of customer is the one she needs. This store is very busy and their desserts are delicious and they are very creative coming up with new products. But if this is the person behind the store/brand, I will no longer be supporting them since I don’t feel welcomed, felt very disrespected and unappreciated as a customer. When they had one store only and it was the two Brazilian brothers handling the business at the fore front, it was a much, much, MUCH better experience. I don’t know if Esther is related to the gentlemen that operated before, but if she is, they need to teach her the basics on customer management. Also, the panettones are much smaller this year, and more expensive. Still delicious, but probably not worth it any more. I used to order dozens of them years back (for my employees, as part of their Holiday gift). I am a business owner myself and would never tell someone they are not the type of customer I need. I need (and am so grateful to) all of my customers, and I *especially* need my repeat, loyal customers! Lastly, they used the have a viewing window for people to see how the brigadeiros were being made. Now that viewing window is no longer open (although you can still peek through the curtains, even if “Esther the owner”) tries to block it off for you. They also used to wear gloves when making the desserts. Today the decor of the cakes was done with naked hands, although I don’t care, it definitely shows the same quality is not there like it used to, unfortunately. It seems they grew too fast and lost the love for their small business and their customers; only because of being too busy in the Holidays !"
"The most delicious brownie Brigadeiros I’ve ever tried and a wonderfully crafted tasty Cappuccino with Nutella rim!!!! Wonderful environment in a wonderfully pink little shop with very friendly staff. Muito Obrigado :)"
"I've been here before but never left a review because I was still not an active Yelper yet but now I'm proud to show the Elite badge. This is one of the cutest little coffee shops l've been to like Ever. The thing that is shocking to me was that this is more of a chocolate shop than a coffee shop but they just happen to serve a cappuccino with Nutella or Dulce de Leche around the rim of the cups. brought my friend because she is the chocolatier and l'm more of a coffee drinker so when we came here we both won. I did see the gourmet cappuccinos on Yelp but didn't imagine how delicious this cup of coffee would be until I tried it. When you order it there is no need to add sugar for the Nutella gives it the sweetness you'd want, at least for me it was. Gosh, no pun intended, the Nutella alone is soooo good that the trick is too lick this cup or scoop it with a spoon before you even get to the coffee, yes I know, I'm a savage. Seriously though, the coffee is just there as a bonus lol We had the Nutella cappuccino as well as the Dulce de Leche one with these little pebbles that taste sweet and salty at the same time, yummy. My friend also had her share of chocolates or brigadeiros(Brazilian chocolate) and was in chocolate heaven. She had the guava and cheese, the one topped with almonds and the Dulce de Leche brigadeiros. Guess what? She is a happy woman right now lol"
"Such a cute place at Coral way to go when you have sugar cravings. I got a Nutella milkshake and it was delicious. The place was themed all throughout, it looked really cute. I will be coming back to try other desserts from the menu."
