Lithia Springs Park, located at 3932 Lithia Springs Road in Lithia, Florida, is a popular tourist attraction that offers a range of outdoor activities for visitors to enjoy. Originally purchased by Gardinier, Inc. and later leased to Hillsborough County, the 160-acre park is best known for its natural spring that flows into the Alafia River, providing cool and clean water for swimming and other water activities year-round.
Visitors to Lithia Springs Park can partake in camping, hiking, fishing, and playing volleyball. The park features woodsy trails, diverse plant communities, river cypress swamps, and hardwood hammocks for hikers to explore. The natural spring, with its 72-degree temperature, is a major attraction for swimmers seeking a refreshing dip.
For campers, there are 45 camping sites available, most of which are suitable for RVs and include water/shower and electrical services. Picnic shelters, tables, restrooms, and fire pits are also provided for campers' convenience. Camping sites are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, with no reservations required.
In addition to individual camping sites, Lithia Springs Park offers camping options for non-profit, 501(c) youth groups, accommodating groups ranging from 12 to 50 individuals. These sites include potable water, picnic tables, and fire pits, but do not have electricity. Proof of affiliation with an organized youth group is required to reserve these sites, with a cost of $2 per person per night. Visitors can also find benches, picnic tables, and a playground area for relaxation and entertainment.

"I found a HUGE TORTOISE ON THE ROAD! I called and the staff were AWESOME! Gave me directions on how to get to them patiently. I was concerned about the environment that was available. I got to ride along for the release and it was great! Rangers were very knowledgable and kept me safe and answered all my questions. Very clean and well kept reserve. Wildlife was AWESOME and very present. Great experience!"

"This spring was the highlight of our trip to Tampa. Cons: The spring is surrounded by an ugly wall and chain link fence and there is a periodic odor that is rather unpleasant. Of course there are folks who don’t think the rules put into place to protect the spring apply to them, but that’s the case anywhere. The beach areas are steep and small. I’m sure it gets crazy on weekends and holidays! Pros: We paid ten bucks for a full day of swimming. We went on a Tuesday and a Thursday and it was never busy. The spring is cool, clear and refreshing. There are three areas marked off so no one accidentally wanders into the deeper side. We have been to many springs and although this one may not be perfect for some, it was perfect for us. When given the option of going back to the beach or back to the spring, the vote was unanimous! The locals are fortunate to have such an affordable spring so close."
