"This place is awesome. It's comparable to the salvation army in Dallas which is super too. I've been having a hard time finding a thrift store year that has a great selection but this place hit the spot. It's always nice to go to a thrift store that has sales too because everybody loves a bargain!"

"First off their prices are outrageous!! For what they charge for donated items especially all of their furniture/tvs they are a ripoff. I could go to a furniture store and pay those prices that they are selling for just about even for fairly used. Secondly I can go to brandsmart for new tvs for the prices they charge. Third of all they need to learn customer service because their staff is rude as hell and they have attitudes with customers! Since they don’t have good customer service skills they need to be in the back of a business away from people. Y’all need to be respectful of customers and they way you talk to them. Bought a few pillows today and we won’t be returning ever!!! Save your time don’t come here!"

"Extremely rude lady, gave us an attitude, lied about the pricing, and had no knowledge regarding the discounts. She also groaned and complained for putting back a few hangers.. Deplorable customer service on her part. It is not the first time this happens, management here needs to hire decent, optimistic people."

"In 1852 in England, William Booth and his wife Catherine were inspired by the gospel of Jesus Christ to leave the church and take their ministry to the streets. They abandoned the concept of the traditional church pulpit in favor of preaching directly to the people most in need. Despite the disapproval of the church, Booth took his ministry to the poor, the homeless, the hungry, and the destitute. After training evangelists all over England, the couple returned to the west end of London in 1875 and formed their organization, the Christian Mission. In 1878 while reading the annual report for the Christian Mission he noticed the phrase "The Christian Mission is a volunteer army." William Booth crossed out volunteer army and replaced it with salvation army. From then on converts became soldiers of Christ or Salvationists. The groups message spread quickly and today they serve over 100 countries. The Salvation Army has churches throughout the world called Salvation Army corps but they are probably best known for their thrift stores. When items are purchased at the stores the money supports the Salvation Army's emergency relief efforts and programs. Unlike a lot of businesses the Salvation Army will hire ex felons. Some of the shops support the Adult Rehabilitation Centers which help people combat addiction. When you donate to or buy from the Salvation Army you are helping to support many worthwhile programs. I discovered this Salvation Army Thrift Store next door to Mounts Botanical Garden. It is huge and well organized and is much nicer than other Salvation Army stores I have been in. In the front of the store they have a little Christmas shop set up and a lot of people were picking up inexpensive decorations. They also sell small appliances, clothes, furniture, toys, accessories, and house hold goods. If you like to save money and want to help the planet by reusing items, think thrift!"
