Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park, located at 6503 North Ocean Drive in Dania Beach, Florida, is a beautiful park and tourist attraction that offers a variety of outdoor activities. The park will be under construction starting April 1, 2024, so visitors should expect delays near the bridges. However, the park is currently open from 8 a.m. to sunset, with temporary closures when it reaches maximum capacity.
This beachside park is the last remaining undeveloped coastal ecosystem in Broward County and is named after Civil Rights Movement leaders who fought to desegregate South Florida beaches. It was once a designated "colored beach" but now offers a peaceful escape for swimming, fishing, boating, hiking, bicycling, and picnicking.
Visitors can enjoy the natural beauty of the park and learn about its important history while reconnecting with nature. Don't miss the opportunity to visit Dr. Von D. Mizell-Eula Johnson State Park and experience all it has to offer.

Reviews
"6$ to enter. North beach/trails closed as of 1/25/24. Strong rip tides so maybe not the best for swimming, great to lay out and walk along. Lots of blue jelly fish, make sure kids don't touch them, they sting even after they've died. Diverse shells, coral & sponges on beach. Beautiful all around. Bathrooms have no soap so bring hand sani. Great for bird watching!"
"Surprise to see so many fun coral stones. The sand is nice to play for kids. It's close to the Ford Lauderdale airport so it nice place to watch planes too.The entrance fee is 6 dollars."
"Nice park. You can walk around the trails, fish from underneath the bridge, watch ships enter the port, hang out at the beach, rent kayaks. The beach is pretty but it is in the proximity of the port so it's not a 100% nature experience. There are a few nature trails. You can walk your dog on the trails but they aren't allowed on the beach. Plenty of parking."
"Love this state park. $6 for the day, plenty of parking. FYI No lifeguards on duty. And no alcohol. Nice bathrooms, beach showers, bbqs for day trips. One of our favorite spots."
