"Kari and her team have curated an incredible sanctuary for these rescued monkeys to live out long, happy, and social lives together. Staff was not only pleasant and accommodating to my group, but knowledgable and intentional with their care of the primates. Very inspiring place, highly recommend volunteering!"
"Jungle Friends Primate Sanctuary continues to become a more fulfilling experience each and every time I go! It is a sanctuary of care and compassion for monkeys who have either come from labs, have been former pets, or rescue monkeys needing a safe space and place to live out their lives. Spacious habitats provide for optimal care and healthy environments. There are countless volunteer opportunities; however I would highly recommend the tour for a starting point as it allows you to see the big picture of not only the many types of monkeys but the lush natural surroundings. What a treat I always look forward to with each return !"
"We love hearing all the stories about the individual Monkeys. We would recommend everyone take the Magical Monkey Tour and, if you have time, volunteer. You can’t beat the experience!"
"We spent two weeks with Jungle Friends helping them upgrade their very well run organization to better accommodate their older primates. As another nonprofit, we value the gift of giving and what others are trying to do to make the world of those less fortunate better. Jungle Friends does this with their primates. It would be wonderful if we humans could just have left primates to their natural habitats. But no, we captured them and sent them to the labs or tried to make them pets. It's horrific. Enter Jungle Friends whose primary purpose is to provide these poor but wonderful souls with a safe and comfortable place to live out their years. Watching Kari and her staff get up at the crack of dawn and earlier to feed and care for the monkeys was incredibly heart warming. This wasn't what they wanted to do in life but felt compelled to act and they have done so much with such limited resources. We were honored to help Jungle Friends with their work and are forever changed by the experience. Please visit, please consider volunteering because they rely heavily on the power of volunteers, and, at a minimum, visit and speak with Kari, Andrew, and their staff. They are wonderful! Note: We are a national nonprofit that performs RVer friendly volunteer projects all over the country, mostly at state parks and other nonprofits such as Jungle Friends."
