"I happened upon this place after careful consideration and research. What a gem this place truly is. I've boarded my dog bax at plenty of big brand hotels and vets over the years (which were all ok) but this place has gotten my heartstrings. The family is truly a hardworking and caring group of individuals who go the extra mile for their clients. I was nervous about leaving my dog for so long after the Thanksgiving break with a last minute fall out with my current boarding place but they assured me they had room and even adjusted hours to meet me. We also had unexpected delays and when I called to see if they could accommodate an extra day or two, they were so sincere and understanding (truly the least stressful part of my whole Thanksgiving). They might very been a 45 minute drive out of my particular way but are one of the highlights of my trip and I will continue to board here for as long as they will have my crazy boy. I especially love that boarding contributes to the rescue work they do as well as supports a wonderful small business."

"Louise and Jessica are always a pleasure to interact with. They take amazing care of the animals, everyone always comes home in great shape. I boarded my dog and four cats for 6 weeks during some personal home related issues and everything went very smoothly. "If I could give her lower rating, I would! There is no way I would drop my dogs off here, the place looks abandoned! I really hoped that this place was still beautiful, as I used to work there when I was 17! Boy was I sorely mistaken! "The biggest stress of traveling abroad for us has been trying to find a safe and trusting place to leave our dogs. Our dogs usually travel EVERYWHERE with us when we road trip domestically, so when we had to fly across the globe for the first time, we needed to figure something out for our pups and Sun Kiva saved the day. One of our dogs is a great candidate for a doggy day care setting, but our other dog has anxiety and doesn’t do great with all other dogs so we needed to find a kennel option for them where they could still get out, use up their energy and play without having to be good with other dogs. Sun Kiva provides play and run time for the dogs (as much time as they need to ensure they’re happy!) but doesn’t put any dogs together unless they’re of the same household (our dogs were kenneled separately but got play time together every day). Louise and Jessica are fantastic and passionate animal lovers, and the moment we met them I knew we could trust them with our “kids”. They live on property and will literally do anything at any time for the dogs in their care. Jessica is a certified vet tech and they both have many years of animal experience - and you can tell by how much animals are drawn to them right away. They offer meet and greet sessions for anxious pets before boarding, and are also advocates for rescue which is always a big plus to us. They also provide a lot of care for dogs with storm anxiety - which was important to us while traveling during a time it rained/stormed every day. When we checked in to ask for updates (which was really nice, I love that they don’t mind you texting to ask how your dog is doing!) they were honest - instead of always saying “yes your dogs are doing great” they told us exactly how they were doing - if they had anxiety or something was up, they let us know and that honesty was really appreciated so we could work with them to find a solution in that moment. For our dog with anxiety issues, I feel Sun Kiva was the best and safest option for him and absolutely will be using their services again. Oh and besides all of the wonderful things I could already say about this kennel, their rates are extremely affordable. I never in my life had imagined we could afford to travel anywhere WITHOUT our dogs, solely because of the costs of boarding, but Sun Kiva has incredible pricing that makes it extremely accessible for families to board their pets with a peace of mind and not a huge dent in the wallet. They may be a drive from Gainesville, but I promise it’s well worth it. (They also offer transport services so ask about it if you can’t drop off/pick up!) I can’t recommend Sun Kiva enough."
