"Over promised and under delivered. The positives are access to a large beach. There are free activities, but if you stay at this part of the property, you'll have to walk 400 yards or more to get to any. That's about it for positives. Rooms are small, but that wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for loud music that plays until 12am or 1am. If you're unlucky enough to be on the north side, music from somewhere up the beach will keep you up all night. No matter the day, it plays. If you don't have your own car, there are a couple places within walking distance, but I'd recommend your own transportation. I know many resorts do this, but there are tons of hidden fees. Staying at this part of the resort group, you aren't going to enjoy as much of the amenities you are paying for. I highly recommend looking elsewhere."
"The hotel is right on the beach - so excellent location! With pretty views. Unfortunately for us, it was a cloudy sunset. The rooms feel dated and are small with a bit of an odor - likely from the carpet (which should be upgraded to tile since it's on the beach with a pool and likely has water from people coming in and out often and adds to the dated feeling). The room curtain didn't block out all the outside light making it difficult to get good sleep. It worked for a night, but wouldn't stay again."
"Our room was great, right by a pool with GREAT view of the beach and a balcony looking out to the beach and ocean. So many different places to get food and drinks right on the resort and nice restaurants around as well within walking distance. The room was extremely clean, had a kitchenette area and living room space which was amazing to have in a "hotel" room. Bathroom water pressure was great, rooms were quiet despite having people in the rooms next to us which is so unusual for a hotel--definitely did not go unnoticed!! Staff was all very nice. Love that you can visit both hotels and explore. Beach truly is the BEST beach, so clean and sand is amazing. We absolutely loved our time here and will be visiting again soon. Can't say enough good things!"
"Our initial landing at RumFish was a little rocky but with the extra customer service efforts of a staff member, Chris, things improved. The first night they placed us in a room next to the parking lot and main lobby. Car alarms, horns, people coming back to the hotel drunk meant not a great night of sleep. Enter staffer Chris to the rescue. When I called to ask if there were any rooms we could switch to, he described two options and offered to walk us to check them both out. I said that wasn’t necessary and he insisted. Our next room was quiet and little bigger and extremely comfortable. And we were able to look out on the ocean. Beautiful. I’d request a room away from the parking lot if noise bothers you. I wish there had been more food options but we were there in off season. Once we figured out some restaurants nearby, we settled in very well and enjoyed the very clean rooms, well maintained pools, and well supplied and organized beaches. We were disappointed the zip line was closed the whole time we were there. 6 days in all. So it was a positive but not perfect stay for us. Not a luxury spot but comfortable and clean, and my teen enjoyed the mini golf and the slide and some of the other activities sprinkled about. The staff were all friendly and really tried to make it a good stay. And Chris really made the difference for us. I’m also guessing being there during peak season would be totally different. Location is beautiful right on the beach. A nice place to land for a few days."
"Nice beach front resort hotel. The hotel itself is a little dated in design and aesthetic, but the rooms are clean and functional. The check in experience is a little weird - being told a list of possible charges and then immediately they try to lure you into a time share sales pitch. However once you get to the beach side of the hotel it is better, the gulfside grill and pool bar is good and the staff are very friendly. The frozen drinks are great. The hotel has an "app" but it requires excessive permissions (like all your photos and videos and audio) so I refused to use it. They have a number of activities but I didn't try those. Visit in mid January and the hotel was pretty quiet."
