"This is a really hard review for me to write because I really want to love this place. My now husband and I chose to get married here due to it's beautiful location, specifically its rooftop. Well, to start with the good, the rooftop was indeed gorgeous to get married. Also, all the food was absolutely delicious. The valets were kind, the wait staff in Castille was wonderful and I want to shout out Carly, who helped us plan the wedding, as well as David, a kind employee who tended to my husband and I the night of our wedding. For me to give a two star rating after all those things goes to show just how bad the bad things went. Firstly, the hotel and my coordinator had terrible communication with me as well as one another despite them being an exclusive vendor for her. They would each provide me different rules on aspects of planning. When I had questions regarding the room block, it took more than 10 phone calls and another few emails to hear from Jacqueline, who took absolutely no time throwing my coordinator under the bus and blaming every miscommunication on someone else. It seems that not taking accountability is the Hotel Management's M.O. seeing as they did not attempt to apologize or accommodate guests when the water was shut off for multiple hours during the day while we were staying here for our wedding trying to prepare for the rehearsal. Instead, we were lied to and kept being told "30 more minutes" which turned into three hours. Then, In the middle of our wedding, they kicked us out of the conference room we were told we would have all day. Members of the bridal party had to leave the wedding to clean this room out at the hotel's request. If a time to be out was communicated sooner, we could have planned accordingly but we were told we would have the room until the wedding was over. Also during the wedding, our wedding cake (which was a small 10 person cutting cake) was cut up and given out to approximately 20 of our 100 guests, because it obviously was not big enough to serve everyone. I had specifically asked it be boxed up after cutting and delivered to our room. We also were not set aside anything from our dessert table which I also requested. We were given a welcome tray of desserts from the staff with nuts all over the desserts, despite my husband and I both being allergic. With us spending so much money to get married at the hotel, and the hotel being well aware of our allergies, I found this upsetting as my husband could have gone into anaphylaxis had I not seen and removed the tray first. Lastly, my parents are both disabled and it's upsetting that a hotel that is supposed to be such high caliber, is unable to help disabled guests with their bags. Unfortunately a beautiful view, good food and some sweet employees are unable to make up for all of the bad. I'm lucky to have had other amazing vendors that made up for where the hotel grossly lacked. I hope others in the future have a better time than we did."
"Me and wife came here for our honeymoon 2 years ago and had the best time of our lives. The food was amazing, views were great, and the staff couldn’t have made us feel more special. The staff all remembered our names as we stayed for the week and really made us feel like we had a small family at the Zamora. Al in Valet deserves a huge promotion. He is the best. We must’ve talked forever. He truly knows what hospitality is. We talked about how happy we were there and we decided to go back this year. Unfortunately Zamora was sold and new ownership/ management basically let go of 90% of the amazing people that worked there or they quit. I don’t blame them. When we came back it was a much more cold atmosphere and nobody attempted to get to know us except for Al who remembered us after a year! and the other guy in Valet who was there from the year before. The food quality was WAY worse and left much to be desired. The thanksgiving dinner was just a huge waste of money and the rooftop bartender was a jerk to us. It is with deep sadness that our experience was diminished because of a corporation doing what they do best, count numbers and devalue people and experience. We unfortunately won’t be coming back and that saddens me the most since this was a very special place for me and my wife. People matter more than anything else. You can’t quantify it on a spreadsheet. A message for the ownership group: You can write a reply to save face and make it look like you care like you have done with the other reviews, but if it keeps happening to people over the last year, then it’s not a couple of bad experiences, it’s now a pattern. Never forget about the people who made this hotel special and we hope that you will see what kind of impact this has had on us with this review. This was much more to us than some hotel. It was like a home away from home. Now, it’s just some hotel in Florida."
"This “luxury hotel “ is very underwhelming and very overpriced for what you get. My family of 4 is here for a week and we had problems from the start; the room sleeps 5 but we only had 3 towels and had to push for more every day. The shower was broken… we had to ask 4 times for someone to fix it. It got fixed with the hotel repair man and my husband after 2 days. It lasted 2 days and it is broken again. The bathroom sink was clogged and my husband had to clean it and that was disgusting. There was no hairdryer … I had to request one. We have had to go to the public bathroom to get toilet paper. The bedspreads are like having an extra sheet vs a blanket. Our dinner the first night could barely feed a child and was overcooked… cost $150, and when we complained, they took $21 off which doesn’t even match the tip. We aren’t stingy… we expect to pay a decent price for a family of four but we were all still hungry when we left there. We’ve had to go out to eat every meal or do door dash. The “living room” space has 1 small couch for all of us to share. The bureau drawers were broken. The hot tub is broken and is taped off. This place is very expensive, $400+/night and we could have stayed at a Comfort Inn and had a better stay… at least get the value out for what we paid. Everyday, something new happens and we have 2 nights left. Very irritated that we spent the money we did for a lousy stay. Don’t waste your money! And half an hour after writing my review… the toilet is broken! This place sucks. So angry"
"We stayed just for one night but really enjoyed our families experience here. All of the staff was very friendly and very accommodating. The valet was actually convenient and they helped us as well with setting up beach chairs for us and setting up a kayak for me and my son to use. The food at the restaurant for dinner was really good. Room was clean and no odors. We also ate here for breakfast the next morning and had a fantastic breakfast out on the restaurant’s patio and enjoyed the sunrise as well. Great experience, thank you to all of the staff for such a great time!"
"This place does not warrant its price. I've had better service, rooms, beds, and overall experiences from $100/ night hotels than I did here for about $250/ night. Furniture was heavily scratched, phone in my room didn't work, several light switches/ fan controls didn't work, there was no toilet paper holder in the bathroom, there was a different room's balcony outside our window (no joke, a different guest could've walked up to our window from outside and stared in at us on the 3rd floor). Front desk was low-key rude. Asked for an additional blanket, called back an hour later, they said they forgot, they then offered to take care of it while on the phone with me, i said that wasn't necessary so they hung up on me (to take care of it i guess). Called for additional towels, they told me they'd let housekeeping know and they'd get to me when they'd get to me. Let them know my phone wasn't working (calling from another person in our party's room) they said the phones are getting replaced next month and hung up. I know none of these are their fault but the basic customer service thing of "I'm sorry [you're having this slightly negative experience]" isn't a thing they do here apparently. Also didn't appreciate the forced valet service. Positive notes. With the exception of the front desk, all the staff was super nice, helpful, and friendly. Every bit of food we had here was super good, expensive but delicious"
