"For the second time in two weeks, the check-in process at a Florida Staybridge Suites was an unnecessarily chaotic mess. (What is happening to this brand?) At this Gainesville property, the front desk staff was ill-informed, unhelpful, and—most importantly—actively worked to make the transaction more difficult than it needed to be. Rather hypocritically, they were somehow unable to simply keep the original payment card attached to a pre-paid, *non-refundable* room. (Hmm. Want to bet the card attached to the record would have worked just fine if we’d been a no-show?) And now, magically, this one stay is somehow the only one in my IHG history for which the post-stay bill is unavailable. Knowing what the billing activity triggers in their CRM system, I am in no way surprised he is hiding his shoddy work. It’s a shame that Staybridge now seems unable to employ and/or train front desk staff who genuinely enjoy helping guests. Having recently switched my personal bookings to IHG after great success with years of professional bookings made on behalf of my employers, these rotten check-in experiences have made me reconsider all of it. Do better, IHG."
"As an Elite Platinum member, I have certain expectations of service that, unfortunately, were not met during my recent stay. Firstly, the lack of daily housekeeping was a significant inconvenience. Although I understand some hotels have modified services, the communication and execution here were poor. The complimentary breakfast offered was mediocre at best, lacking both in quality and variety. This was disappointing, especially considering the reputation of the hotel. Additionally, our experience with room service was extremely frustrating. We had two reservations and were explicitly promised housekeeping services on the third night. Despite requesting a sheet change and trash removal early in the morning, we were repeatedly told of delays at 2 PM and again at 3 PM, with assurances that our room would be attended to. However, by 4 PM, we were informed that the housekeeping staff had already left for the day. This lack of service is unacceptable. Our request for a new room due to these issues was flatly refused. Moreover, observing a member of the housekeeping staff leisurely using her phone in the afternoon, while our requests were being neglected, was particularly galling. This incident speaks volumes about the inefficiency and incompetence of the staff. For a hotel that prides itself on service, this experience was deeply disappointing. As a loyal and frequent guest, I expected much better and hope this feedback leads to significant improvements. As a Hilton Gold member, I’ll go with the adjacent site next time for sure."
"Staybridge Suites is the epitamy of excellent quality, exceptional service. The place is nice, spacious and comfortable. We do a lot traveling in our profession and have stayed at a plethora of hotels. Our stay here is by far the best. It must be noted that the entire staff is absolutely excellent. Customer service is by far the best attribute that I look for when choosing to return for antother visit and make referrals to others. I would like to thank Brandi and Terrell for their flawless kindness. Regardless of what I need, or just a simple recognition by them when walking by says it all. They make me feel like I am the most important person in the room. I thank you and appreciate you. With sincere gratitude.."
"We have stayed at this hotel three times this year, touring UF and also looking for housing for my son. The hotel is clean and nice & bright. We booked a suite with a kitchen. The bed was comfortable & the family room was large. Breakfast was good, coffee and tea were available all day. They also have a great social happy hour Monday through Wednesday. All the workers are friendly & profesional specially Mr. Marcel. Highly recommended!!!!"
"Great experience here with 2 kids in tow. The rooms were fresh/newer seeming, clean, and relatively quiet. Nice suite setup (2 rooms). Plenty of space. And it ajoined to Holiday Inn-which has an earlier breakfast if you have small kids/early risers."
