The Sunset Inn - Islamorada

"Stayed here for 2 nights on our way down to Key West so we could see things in the area. Location in the Keys is great but location from the highway isn't. Front units you hear the traffic all night. The AC unit only drowned it out a little. No room to get out of either double bed on one side of each bed and there was a bad sulfer smell in the bathroom with water coming up from under the vinyl flooring. Front desk said it was from them cleaning the bathroom but there was a lot of water and more water after we left even with towels on the floor that they gave us. Probably a result of the water coming out of the shower as there's no door. Wouldn't stay there again"

"For the price, this is a great motel to spend a night or two at. Obviously if you can afford a bit more, get a motel on the water, but No complaints on cleanliness of the rooms and the pool was nice and warm. A little strict on the rules of the property."

"I spent a week here over the summer with a group of 16 kids and it was awesome. The staff and management were super friendly and accommodating. Close to everything is Islamorada and the pool and lounging area was everything that we needed. We've found our home away from home. Thanks Tammie."

"Absolutely loved everything about the Sunset Inn, friendly & welcoming staff, lovely room, great facilities (the pool is wonderful) and a great location for exploring the Keys. Mangrove Mike’s is just next door (a superb and super authentic diner, great breakfast and a must visit) and the Islamorada Distillery & Brewing company is just across the street, which is another must visit. We’ll be back again for sure!"

"We stayed here two nights this past week. We wish we had splurged and stayed somewhere nicer. We don’t really sleep those two nights….the AC unit in our room was soooo loud and turned on/off every 10 minutes throughout the night….each time, waking us up. We would have loved to enjoy the fresh sea air but the windows did not open (and the road noise may have need just as bad….the hotel is right on the main highway). There was definitely something wrong with the ventilation….everything was soggy (towels, sheets), even the bathroom floor was soggy enough that water came up through a crack when we walked. It looks like they may have renovated recently…it looks cute on the surface but surface only. We would recommend trying somewhere else."
