"I did not have the anything similar to what some of the reviewers on here had. I have called multiple times and we have been in multiple times and every time has been very good and the girls at the desk are super then we noticed that someone was putting their dog down that day and they had a really nice candle lit on the counter with a sign that said someone was saying good bye to their friend and to observe with quietness. I thought that was a kind touch. Willow is our new puppy and we all had a good visit, the tech/nurse explained so much, wish I cant remember his name but he had an accent when he spoke and was very thorough with explaining everything and we signed up for the wellness plan and I was able to look at the computer screen and custom make the package with him. He shared his knowledge and explained everything and answered my puppy questions accurately. Didnt see the vet myself because I chose the option to drop off, which was convenient for my work schedule, but the tech spent a lot of time with us to make sure we had a good experience. OVERALL I GIVE THEM A BIG SHOUT OUT. Great service on the phone and in the store. Also this Petsmart is super clean and well merchandised everytime we have been in so it makes it very conventient to grab a doggy dress, pick up my dog and a treat for her when we leave. Oh and also a cute touch, they have a marker board that they put all the dogs for the days name on, our 4 year old loved seeing her bestfriends name up!! LOVED OUR EXPERIENCES, KEEP IT UP!"
"I took my puppy, Rocco, for an “emergency visit” because he had a seizure and Dr Cotter, after doing lab work and telling me the dog liver enzymes were “a little high, nothing to worry about”, gave my 9 month old puppy another dose of Simparica Trio and my dog had a seizure a week later!! I was never advised that this could be a side effect of this medication and how can you give him ANOTHER dose the day he had a seizure?? He’s had 2 since that last visit, October 13th. I will never go back there again and definitely not recommend this place. I cancelled my puppy wellness plan and will not take my dog there again!! This has cost me more money and it’s been heartbreaking to see my puppy go through this!! I will not stop until I get to the bottom of this !!"
"I had a wellness plan with Banfield for both of my dogs. In the year we have been with this practice, I have experienced ongoing issues with phones not being answered, on some days they don’t answer all day. When calling back I was told that the the clinic was closed because they didn’t have a vet or on a different occasion that the techs in the back working with the animals had to come out front to answer the phones. When bringing my dogs in for their annual check ups on two separate occasions they tried to have one of the techs do the annual exam, I said my appointment is with the vet, I prefer the vet. The staff continued to push the vet tech on me telling me she was like an NP. I refused and was told then I would have to wait over an hour. When I did see the doctor I asked her what is the education level of the vet tech and she didn’t know! I later found out the tech supposedly has an associate degree. FYI NPs actually have a masters or doctorate. To compare the two is misleading the public and to try to pass an associate degree prepared tech off as being as qualified as a vet is deeply concerning. My dog breed has a potential genetic cardiac condition and I do not want anyone other than an EXPERT to examine my dogs! Aside from these serious concerns, the clinic is filthy, windows and doors are dirty, I was uncomfortable having my pets walk around in the clinic and certainly wouldn’t want my pets having any kind of procedure or surgery done in such an unsanitary environment. Banfield prefers and encourages you to drop your pet off for the day rather than making an actual appointment. This simply is not in the best interest of the animals and is unnecessary. Given all of the above, I was in the process of switching to another practice when one of my dogs became sick and required emergency hospitalization. I called Banfield for guidance and the number they gave on their answering machine for emergency services was no longer in service! SMH. After she was discharged from 2 days in the hospital, I was instructed to follow up with my vet the next morning regarding a urinary issue she was having and when I called for the appointment they were unable to see her resulting in my having to go to urgent care instead. Now Banfield is trying to charge me for the remaining 4 months on the wellness plans that I cancelled. Do yourself and your pets a favor and avoid Banfield!"
"My dog was seen by Dr Connors who said my dog was fine even though I brought her in with a concern of a cough. My dog was not boarded but was coughing bad. She checked her and gave her all her shots even though i wasn’t necessarily there for that and said we could give her an antibiotic but that she didn’t need it and was fine. My dog is vomiting and has not eaten for two days and is shaking even though we turned off the air hoping it helps with her coughing. I called to make an appointment and they said vet is in surgery and they need to speak with her and they don’t have any appointments that I could take her somewhere else. That sends a red flag to me —-they know Dr Connors messes up and they don’t want to deal with it!"
"Best experience I have had at a vet in awhile. From the front desk to the vet tech to the doctor, everyone was so kind. My dog has a HARD time at the vet (normally), but today she was so comfortable with their whole staff. Not only were they welcoming, both the tech and doctor were SO informative on the nexts step to take with my dog & her issues. Will definitely be coming back regularly to see Dr. Strenkert!"
