"Worst deli ever. No one in the deli has any knowledge about the food that they serve. Had a woman waiting on me today who proceeded to place my meat on the scale without a plastic wrap underneath. It wasn't until she put it in the bag that she put plastic around it. She did not understand as to why I did not want it. The produce manager is standing in as the deli manager and apparently all he wants to do is argue with customers and throw attitude. It's sad when the people at the customer service desk are apologizing to me as I leave the store because they know what transpired. It seems a shame that as their prices go through the roof, their customer service and standards have dropped below sea level. Even at a corporate level nothing gets done.... They will have someone who claims to be the store manager call you and yes you to death. Maybe they should retrain their employees and managers in the art of customer service.... If I could give no stars I would."

"The place gets quite busy, but they always have enough employees to handle the crowds. There are many cashiers available, and there is also a self-checkout option, which makes it easy to make purchases. The store is clean and organized, which makes it a pleasant shopping experience."

"I have shopped at this Publix for years and this Publix as well as several other Publix stores that I have used are always clean, well organized and well staffed with polite, knowledgeable associates. Publix is almost never out of an item on my list including sale items. The service in general is nothing less than impeccable. The Forest Hill location does tend to put too many product tables in the aisle in front of the checkouts which frequently cause traffic jams and doesn't enforce the 10 item limit in express lanes but these are minor issues. Waits to checkout are almost always short and they quickly open more registers if lines grow longer than about 2 people. Publix provides above average service quality and I expect and am willing to pay higher prices for the extra service. I have always read that the grocery business is a low margin (a small % of the sale price goes to the store), high volume business. Publix's prices have always been higher than the competition but the premium is becoming perhaps a bit extreme. I comparison shopped a couple of items on my grocery list recently and was amazed at what I found. A 24 oz can of La Espanola olive oil is $6.98 at Walmart and $11.79 at Publix. An 88 oz, 58 load bottle of All laundry detergent is $11.97 at Walmart and $15.99 at Publix. Publix also seems to get some weird product sizes such as 5 protein bars in a box compared to 6 in a box at other stores. Publix's prices seem a bit greedy or even outrageous. I'll put up with out of stock items, lazy staff and disorganized shelves at Walmart for the significant savings to be had."
