"I’ve been a patient of Doctor Kim’s since his old office in Ponte Vedra when he joined Dr White (patient since 01/2013) and followed him to the new location. I’ve had the pleasure of him, Dr Rolle, and Dr Evans treating all three of my children. The new(ish) jax beach office is organized and clean and the medical assistants are fantastic. The front desk staff is fine, nothing wonderful or terrible to say about them. All of the doctors are personable, thorough, and knowledgeable. The reason I am only giving this practice three stars and the reason I am switching my children to another office is because of appointment availability. They’ve gotten too busy. You used to be able to call with a sick child at opening and get a same day appointment. Last month my son awoke with sore throat so bad he couldn’t swallow, fever, and classic symptoms of strep (as well as known exposure in school). I called within 5 minutes of opening on a Monday and was told the first available appointment with any provider was that Thursday so I landed at urgent care with an urgent care co-pay. Today, my toddler was discharged from wolfsons children’s hospital after being treated for difficulty breathing from a respiratory illness and we were told to follow up with our primary care the next day. I called today (thursday) before noon and explained to them what we had been going through and what the instructions were and the first appointment they had was next Tuesday, 5 days later. A pediatrician office that is great for scheduled well checks is awesome, and they are great at well checks. But to have a clinically unwell child that either needs a throat swab and antibiotics or a checkup after being hospitalized and sent home with instructions to make sure the four medications you were sent home with continue to keep your child stable and improving, and not be able to get an appointment at any hour with any pediatrician for a handful of days is completely unacceptable in my opinion. I’m sad to leave this practice. I am a health care provider myself, and so is my husband, and I could not imagine ever refusing to allow double bookings or leaving slots open for the sickest patients who need us the most, way more so than well checks and school physicals. Disappointed is an understatement!"
