"My husband is a patient of Chen Medical in Pembroke Pines Fl under Dr. Heyliger. We request a referral for a podiatrist over three weeks ago and the referral was not sent when we arrived at our appointment today which is September 12, 2023. We received a call from the podiatrist office on Friday, they have not received the referral for his appointment. My husband went to the office to give the information the day before. We got to the appointment and the referral was not received by the podiatrist office. Chen medical has their own Doctors and they do not want to refer you out to other medical professionals or specialist. Where are the patients rights if the doctor is in the net work with the insurance. Why should there be a problem with getting a referral to a doctor that you choose to go to when their scheduling is not convenient and they have to schedule you along with dozens of other people in the office at the same time to see that doctor? This is unacceptable. We are changing Primary care."
