"Dr has horrible bed side manner. Positive: I believe it was a tech (didn’t catch her name. Short hair and has glasses. I was crying too much to catch details) that came in and brought me my dead baby tortoise. The tech was nice and although she didn’t outright comfort me, I felt like my pain of losing a loved one was understood by her. Negative: I waited an hour before the doctor showed up. During the short visit with the doctor, she laughed multiple times and made an odd remark about me being a cute lady and having a cute tortoise. It just seemed out of place and inappropriate considering the circumstances. I was crying half the time because she told me my tortoise wasn’t going to make it (I knew it, but it’s still heart wrenching to hear). I don’t remember why she laughed, I never made any jokes and she definitely didn’t. If someone is crying and you’re talking about death in a serious situation, I’m not sure what there is to laugh about. My tortoise was going to die. I knew that, but I held on to a tiny sliver of hope that maybe something could be done to save it. I understand that it was too late. I’m not mad about that. I’m upset about the lack of professionalism and lack of knowledge about reptiles from the doctor. I would not bring any pet I loved, fur baby or reptile to this place or recommended them to anyone I know. I was warned not to go here, but my regular vet was not open and this clinic was the only vet that was close by and open that took emergencies for reptiles. If anyone knows of a professional vet that specializes in tortoises please let me know! R.I.P Turbo, you were a treasure and will always be loved."

"After reading some of these reviews I was afraid to trust them with my dog. But I needed help on a Sunday and Dr Amy calmed me down and assured me he would be all right. I was so scared to put him under anesthesia because he's 15 but they removed an abscessed tooth and I got him back safe and sound. Forever grateful to Dr Amy and the wonderful staff that was there this morning"

"Colonial Animal Hospital held my dog for several nights giving her fluids and pain meds but did not give me any specific diagnosis or treatment options. They only told me she would die if I took her out of the hospital. I finally made the decision to pull her and take her for a second opinion and the second vet did a CT scan and was able to tell me within 30 minutes that she had advanced stage cancer and that she had a few days left. This second vet gave me pain meds and fluids for at home so I could spend time with my pup and she could be in the comfort of home in her last few days… she would have died alone in a cage at colonial."

"Forgot to post a review after we left, the staff here were so kind and caring to our little cat Jinx! They even drew "Welcome Jinx!" on the whiteboard in our room for him, could not recommend them enough!"

"They saved my dog after others said to take her home, she isn't going to live. We didn't give up and bought her to Colonial for a second opinion. Very caring and thorough! Kept me updated every step of the way, but didn't give up! They monitored her through the night and when we took her home she was back to her happy, spunky self! They also allowed me to be with her in case she didn't make it and treated me so kind! This place is A++ #1!! Shout-out to the amazing Dr. Amy and staff!!"
