"Garin Vick was COUNTERPRODUCTIVE to what the Parent Coordinator (“PC”) role is supposed to be, making the co-parenting experience even more difficult and tense. Sadly, this has a negative impact and damage on the very children and families that are supposed to find some resolve and relief using such services. The role of a PC is to help parents communicate, defuse tension, and make day-to-day child-rearing decisions. The experience with Vick led to worsening communication, increased tension, and no resolve of decisions / conflict based on his display of bias, unprofessionalism, inconsistency, zero accountability for himself and my co-parent, lack of communication, greed, and zero integrity for his role and services, all of which, can be substantiated by records. From the start, precedent of non-compliance without consequence was set after my co-parent did not adhere to Vick’s guidance to exchange our child. Vick also requested my co-parent to provide a proposed time-sharing schedule which was never provided. Vick did not hold him accountable for either. Within a span of two months, my multiple emails to Vick requesting to address topics both impacting my child and explanation of charges went unanswered. Once a response was received, I was told I was charged $150 for READING TWO emails, meanwhile, there was still no attention given to the matters I was also seeking to address. Further attempts to resolve co-parenting matters continued to go unanswered UNTIL Vick was presented with an online review from a previous client, that ironically mirrored the challenges I was experiencing with Vick: lack of communication and being excessively charged without matters being addressed. In response to the online review, Vick stated, “The reviews you are reading are from parents not taking responsibility for their behavior and putting their needs above their children. Also, what is not written is the court supporting all my decisions and my requirements per my appointment as PC.” How ironic that he’s willing to respond about an online review but not willing to respond to the duties of his job and also throw a previous client under the bus for unrelated matters and taking no accountability for himself? Still, none of my matters were addressed. The next time I hear from Vick is when he seeks to schedule a session at the request of my co-parent. Still, none of my matters were addressed from months prior nor had there been resolution or consequence to my co-parent previously not adhering to Vick’s guidance to exchange and request for time-share calendar. Upon reflection of the big picture, realizing the foundation of mistrust that had been laid, increasing level of unreliability, lack of confidence in his services, and that more harm was being done than good, I advised Vick that I would no longer be using his services in the best interest of all parties. Vick then states that I cannot singlehandedly end parent coordinating if my co-parent wants to continue. At the advice of my attorney, I emailed Vick stating I would continue with his services IF he could confirm he would be fair and not biased. This email went unanswered, and the next step taken was Vick filing for a status conference checking the box that I was (allegedly) was not compliant with parent coordinating to which the Judge confirmed I was not obliged to participate in any further as it was not ordered by the court, rather a joint agreement made during mediation. Again, how ironic that Vick did not seek accountability for my co-parent not exchanging and providing a calendar, yet, he did not hesitate to seek to ensure I remained using his services ($$$)? In looking back, my gut should’ve told me this was not the right fit when Vick collected hundreds of dollars when he only talked about himself for THREE hours during the first individual session. No attempt was made to ask questions and truly get to know the co-parents and matters needing resolved. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT UTILIZING GARIN VICK AS YOUR PARENT COORDINATOR."
