Cantina La Veinte

"We were in town for a CrossFit competition and as usual, trying to seek out good Mexican food. A Google search brought us to Cantina La Veinte. Can't really say it's a trad "Mexican" restaurant but the food seems mostly Mexican-inspired. I'd call it more of a Mexican-international fusion. The place is gorgeous and the service is very upscale. Margaritas were good but expensive and the food was 99% great. Right up until the dessert. We ordered the tres leches cake. I LOVE tres leches! This was beautiful but NOT tres leches cake. Yes, it was cake sitting in a tres leches mix but the cake was dry! When I asked the server about it, he admitted that they don't add the milk to the cake until you order. Boo! Didn't get past the first bite. UGH! Otherwise, the place is beautiful and well worth the price. They also play a very eclectic mix of music videos on two huge screens. For the most part we really enjoyed them. Unfortunately, it's a rather loud environment, so intimate conversation isn't easy. And of course, you do have to deal with the usual shallow, self-centered Miami crowd but that's kind of a given, I guess."

"I recently visited Cantina La 20 in Miami and was impressed by the ambiance and the overall environment of the place. It has a vibrant setting that’s great for social gatherings and enjoying a night out. The staff was welcoming and the service was up to the mark. However, I must say, the food experience was a letdown. We ordered the Molcajete de Rib Eye and the Queso Fundido, but unfortunately, both dishes were far from satisfying. The quality and taste of the food did not meet our expectations, and even the tortillas served alongside were not up to standard. Given this experience, I would recommend Cantina La 20 for its lively atmosphere and perhaps for drinks, but not for dining. If you’re planning a visit, you might want to consider other options for food in the area. Feel free to tweak this review to better fit your experience and opinions!"

"Very impressed! Service:Food:Ambiance all 5 stars! Highly recommend: Wagyu Sopas : Flavorful,filling and fresh. Don’t recommend the cauliflower. Covered in peanuts doesn’t match the theme of restaurant or taste yummy at all. Theo was beyond incredible and thoughtful for my friends birthday and pacing the food. I can’t thank him enough. I recommend asking for Theo! also the restaurant emailed me after to see how my dining experience was. How special and thoughtful! Def on my list of places to recommend to clients!!"
