"My experience with this therapist has been a NIGHTMARE! I had Court ordered reunification with Ms. Karen Wood for my grandchildren. It didn't take long before she picked the side she would represent. She prides herself in being neutral but she is not. If she gets upset with you, her practice tactics change. The best interest of my grandchildren quickly went out the door. Ms Wood rudely told us do not call or text her office, she only takes emails but she spends hours on the phone with the opposing counsel. Very unprofessional. She sends a bill the day of an appointment, and then says no payment, no session. Make sure you check your invoices and your contract because she will charge you more money than agreed up on. She is a confrontational and bias therapist. For example, I took my grandsons to reunification sessions which did not address children issues. She was more concerned with addressing issues of the father. Most sessions consisted of her stating she wanted to be respected. She yelled and called the child names. After a few sessions, she brought their father in without warning or preparation of children. When children stated how they felt….”my dad has favorites “, she would interject by saying “ we are not going to deal with that because he doesn’t”. She got into an argument with a 10 year old child when the child asked “can I ask you a question,” her response “ no, I’m not talking to you since you won’t talk to me.” This is a therapist that is supposed to help, but is making situations so much worse. My grandson asked for a bathroom break, Ms Wood responded “ no, and stand up because you would be the one to pee on my chair.” To make matters worse, I recommended her to the court, based on a few of her reviews, overlooking the bad ones. Caution STAY AWAY from this therapist. This experience has been a nightmare from hell. By the way, I am the grandmother of her clients. I have no motives and nothing to gain. I’m only interested in the well being of my grandchildren. WARNING….STAY AWAY!"

"Thanks to Karen I have established a positive relationship with my son after us being estranged from each other for eight years. She is supportive, honest, a solid advocate and direct. She took on a difficult case that included a very traumatic divorce and helped us rebuild bridges. She has made a lasting and lifelong positive impact for our whole family."

"Con artist. Tried to take advantage of a desperate father financially. "Errors" on invoice billing me for extra sessions that never happens. Very corrupt. Equivalent of a doctor preforming a unnecessary surgery on you just to be able to bill the insurance. Do your research please. She has many negative reviews all seen to sum up my experience. Started off sweet. Very mean and not nice period, she yelled at me in her office . She quit , then within 5 minutes she sends a follow up email asking if I'm sure after SHE just quit??? Does not seem mentally stable. Predatory practice especially if you are under court order, will not answer any questions or share even a gameplan or what to expect for the therapy 10 sessions in and 2000 dollars down the drain just tells you to pay. failed to meet timelines she sets, then bills you for emails for updates yet gives you no updates. I was told she made my son cry during a session because he did not want to speak . Other reviews online stating she is not good with children. Horrific experience . CAUTION!"
