"Did a few sessions and my son was bored and was not repeating the exercises. I came to an expert who could work with my child and they were just apprehensive to how they were approached. Kids usually follow instructions from a place of love, kindness, patience and firmness. Kids are not robots specially at a young age they are not gonna sit and repeat after you just because you asked, they don’t know who you are or what your expertise is. Its called building trust. Kid is not engaged? I sure hope the professional knows how to get him to engage, but you didn’t. You said, I can’t help and sent us on our way. Everyone I talk to made me realize that was not normal. You didn’t even ask about their personality, what they liked, favorite shows, food, anything to get to know him and appeal to him and form a relationship, trust, teamwork. We didn’t need someone bouncing off the walls to engage our child into collaborating, but I didn’t even hear her talk to them normally to express the importance of the sessions. They have a speech delay, not deaf."
