"I had a C & P exam with this guy and he seemed nice enough. However after the exam his notes pertaining to my case we're so negative that I was put in for a benefit reduction. Fast forward to my next C & P exam with a different doctor, which challenged his findings, and I am now 100% P&T. The VA does not give out 100% lightly. It is a lot of money and I got a lot of back pay this decision is made by a senior VA official. None of my other examiners shared his opinion. My point is this guy was obviously wrong in his assessment. And for a veteran that can destroy you. If the VA tries to send you to this guy do everything you can to not go and find a different doctor. PS: I like how he's trying to defend himself and he's basically trying to say that other evaluators don't do as good a job as he does. Three other evaluators completely disagreed with his evaluation. And saying that a bad C& P exam can destroy a veteran is not being overly dramatic. Your C&P exam had I have not sought other opinions and challenged it would have had my benefits lowered significantly. So yes a veteran with a family that needs that income and deserves it could certainly be destroyed by your poor reports. I mean come on man look at all of these people saying that you do a bad job. I guess they are all wrong right? You cannot defend the indefensible."

"He didn't listen to a single thing I said. Twisted my words and wrote up a negative evaluation. If you have an appointment with this man change your appointment and go with a different psychologist."

"I am a Veteran and was referred to Dr. Ybarra from the VA for a C&P exam (for PTSD, depression, anxiety etc) and after reading the reviews I had major apprehensions. The reviews in my honest opinion couldn’t be further from the truth. My experience was extremely positive regardless of the outcome of my VA rating (if you know you know). I felt that Dr. Ybarra asked extremely relevant questions, followed along attentively and even offered insight that I haven’t heard before which made me feel he was able to understand my situation beyond a surface level assessment (which probably isn’t even required in my case). I gathered he was very intelligent, knowledgeable and more than willing to take adequate time to talk me through my situation to benefit me regardless of his obligation to do so. I spoke he, listened and is a very seasoned Dr. I can’t speak for others who have been here, but I can tell you from a 20+ yr vet who is about to separate from the service, Dr. Ybarra is the real deal. He’s genuine, pleasant and concerned about YOU when you’re there. I would highly recommend him to anyone and personally would love to see him for follow on care for myself if I could. Don’t trust every review you see or at least take them with a grain of salt as Dr. Ybarra…I’m sure…takes every patient and their situation with the utmost care. I felt it was necessary to leave this review because at face value, I believe that if you go based off of reviews alone, you’re missing out on a great provider."

"His true rating is NEGATIVE 100. The one star was forced in order to write the review. His conduct is extremely unprofessional and his practice is incompetent. If you're seeking proper medical treatment for yourself or your child/children, PLEASE look in the opposite direction. UPDATE as of March 9, 2022 His evaluations are far from thorough. The VA dismissed his entire report/evaluation from my case due to his inaccuracies and noticeable false claims. Thank God the VA were able to see his report was bulls***! Dr Ybarra's visit was traumatizing still to this day. Absolutely the worst "doctor" Ive even seen."

"If you are a military veteran and are looking for a fair and just evaluation for a service-connected disability, do not go to see this doctor. I am not sure of the doctors motives, but he not only denied my claim, he denied my secondary claim from a previously established service-connected disability. I am sure the VA has chosen Dr. Ybarra for his negative judgements of Veterans! Call QTC and ask for another doctor before it's too late. This review is based off my own personal experience with this doctor."
