"My husband Rob and I have been patients of Dr. Carr's for many years and we think the world of him. He has always been there for us. His staff has been wonderful when we needed emergency attention. He treated me for diverticulitis, which required a Colin resection surgery. A few years later, he found I had a hernia on my small bowel. They were both emergency surgeries. He also noticed irregular heart rhythms with my husband, and sent him to pbg hospital, which eventually ended up in open heart surgery. He has saved our lives, and we want to stay with him until he retires. We have so much respect for him and faith in him as well. He is a wonderful man and doctor."
"Started with Dr. Carr 5 years ago. I trusted Dr. Carr and staff. Heard he wanted to retire about a year ago, things went down hill quickly. Since he sold practice to Jupiter Medical Group first of 2019, it has been disastrous. Dr. Carr supposedly to stay on a year, appears he will leave sooner. Pharmacists not receiving RX orders, excessively long waits an hour or more, medical records not updated, difficulty to reach office by phone (no answer, long wait, not listening, rude) old staff gone except for 1 young girl who is receptionist and schedules appointments, she is incompetent. Could no longer see Dr. Carr, instead with nurse practitioner and did not know until day of appointment. Transition has been unprofessional, do not meet needs of patient. I could go on, but it is clear Dr. Carr checked out a long time ago. We will miss him and wish him happiness in his retirement. Jupiter Medical Group is still working out transition rather poorly. Not at my expense or good health, time to find another doctor."
"Dr Orlon Carr is one the best doctors I’ve ever encountered. He is so attentive and precise is it truly comforting. He is so knowledgeable I knew after meeting him I would never see another doctor. However the office staff DOES seem to be a bit disorganized. It’s hard to get a answer from them. Usually takes days of harassment from me to get a script filled or documents faxed over to other dr offices."
"This office is awful. They have charged me for visits I shouldn’t have been charged for, and 2/3 times I’m waiting for over an hour. I can't really review Dr. Carr directly, because despite him supposedly being my PCP and continually asking to make appointments with "DR. CARR", I’ve never met him. If I wanted to see a doctor other than Dr. Carr, I wouldn't have chosen him as my PCP. If you're calling to make an appointment with a doctor that is not available, you should be asked if it's alright to see another doctor, or told you'll need to schedule another time when your preferred doctor is available. Today their office had me in tears. After having hives for a week, I had called an allergist and was told that I would need a referral from my PCP. So I went last week. I told the doctor the allergist said [in order for my insurance to cover it] I would need a referral to see the allergist and a referral to have a skin test done. I repeated these same instructions at the desk where the doctor directed me to get the referrals. I let that desk know I had the CPT code for the insurance and she told me "We don't need the code. I have the request from the allergist right here, so we'll work on it and get it sent off for you." Today (5 days later), I get a call from the allergist's office stating they still had not received the referral and if they don't' get it, I'll need to reschedule my appointment. I call Dr. Carr's office and they tell me the holdup is with my insurance, so I call my insurance. They say they have nothing to do with it, it's an office-to-office type of referral, and they even call Dr. Carr's office to explain that to them. Dr. Carr's office tells the insurance lady they 1. Didn't know I needed a referral, and 2. Didn't know how to do the referral. Didn't know I needed a referral?! I told multiple people I needed a referral, what I needed a referral for, and they told me they had a request from the allergist for the referral! So about an hour later I'm calling the allergist asking if they've received the referral yet, since my appointment is in less than 3 hours away, and they tell me Dr. Carr's office called over to tell them I don't need a referral. Wait - what? Unless Dr. Carr is going to pay for the balance out of his own pocket, why would you say that, after you just spoke with someone from the insurance company who's telling you I NEED A REFERRAL?! I called Dr. Carr's office and they told me directly, as well, that I would not need a referral. So on my drive over to the allergist, I call the insurance company back to clarify. This new lady from the insurance company also very kindly calls them for me, comes back on the line and gives me the name of who she spoke with and tells me that they told her they'll be faxing the referral over in 10 minutes. 15 minutes later (at this point I'm already in the allergist's lobby) the allergist still hasn't received a fax, so I call Dr. Carr's office and ask what's going on? They tell me that the lady who does the referrals is gone for the day. Me (trying not to lose my marbles): "What? My insurance company just called and spoke with this person in your office!” They tell me the lady whose name I was given is NOT handling it after all. After demanding someone take care of this (because I was told it would be done 5 days ago and my appointment is NOW), they tell me they’ll call me back in 5 minutes. They do, but the referral they wind up sending over isn’t actually a referral, so the allergist can’t use it. The lady from the allergist's office calls Dr. Carr's office to find out for me that apparently Dr. Carr’s office only has ONE person in it that can write referrals, and – oh yeah – they don’t even know when she’ll be in again. Tomorrow? They don’t know. I had to cancel the appointment with the allergist and now going on 2 weeks of hives, still no end in sight because of the incompetency of Dr. Carr's office. Moral of this story? I need a new PCP."
"Dr. Orlon Carr and daughter, Dr. Annalisa Carr, are both very fine physicians. They take the time to listen and the time to treat. They don't 'push" the latest meds from the reps and I feel like they both really care. Staff is always willing to phone in a refill scrip and squeeze me in when I'm sick instead of having to go to an urgent care center that really doesn't know me. The waiting time is never too long and never is it hard to schedule an appointment. My wife and I have been going to Drs. Carr for several years and couldn't be happier."
