"Dina is a one-of-a-kind therapist. Ten years ago I walked into her office having been through twenty years of failed recovery attempts from all levels of treatment and several modalities. I had no hope for recovery at that point; I only sought out therapy [again] to find some small amount of comfort until I had a more permanent solution to my misery with my life & myself. Almost immediately, Dina became a lighthouse in my sea of darkness. I was by no means any 'easy' client; I frequently pushed back verbally, non-verbally, and emotionally. I was the type of client that most therapists run from. Surprisingly, Dina not 'wash her hands of me' as most therapists had done in the past. She stood by me in my darkest moments; whether that was by comforting me when I wanted to give up - or by keeping her feet on the ground when I needed to hear a painful truth. Remarkably, and unknowingly on my part, I eventually started to gravitate towards recovery and creating a life worth living because of the bond I developed from our relationship. Fast forward several years, and I enrolled in college, graduated with two degrees in social work, and am now working as a therapist myself. None of which I, nor anyone else, thought was possible. I have a life, I have a future, I have a career, and I no longer live in perpetual darkness; all of which I owe to Dina's presence in my life."
