"She is great !!"
"As an LPN for 7 years, I went to this doctor for a personal concern. As embarrassing as it is to confide in a complete stranger, albeit it professional, she showed complete efficiency and addressed all my concerns in the up most RESPECTFUL and NON-judgemental attitude. As a nurse, I can understand the pressure for time between patients and I value the experience. I've had much worse encounters from female pediatricians while growing up in relation to discussing lady problems lady problems. Dr. Cecilia is knowledgeable and gets to the point and made me feel comfortable when asking her my most awkward questions. She answered everything even when i kept remembering last minute queries. I was so nervous, the staff seemed understanding. I suggest booking appt months ahead and the earliest time of day, when the staff is at their peak of energy. Also bringing all your questions and concerns ready to discuss for the appt. Be sure to mention any important detail, no matter how embarrassing, it could save your life. I would highly recommend and will definitely return when needbe."
"If I could leave less stars I would. Dr. Torres was probably the worst part of my pregnancy with my son. I was a first time mother. My son is now 9 months old. Dr. Torres was always overbooked. She had very little time to spend with her patients, and was very cold. At the beginning of my pregnancy this was fine until the end when complications started to arise. My son was past due. I had concerns because I was explaining to her that I just felt like my son was not going to come natural. His due date was October 4th and my last appointment with her was October 5th. She expressed to me, I’m young no one EVER MAKES it to their induction date. I was told if I did not go into labor naturally I would be induced on October 11th 2018. She said I’ll be fine brushed me off (like every other appt when I asked questions) and That was it. That was the LAST TIME I HEARD FROM HER. My last week of my pregnancy I didn’t go into labor, and I heard nothing from Dr. Torres. I heard from the hospital before her They called and told me to come to my induction at 5pm on the 11th I corrected them because Dr. Torres on my last visit told me to come at 5am. They told me they were completely overbooked but they would try. Lack of communication from Dr. Torres and the hospital had me sitting in the waiting room from 5am-7pm at Jackson memorial hospital. Mind you I’m 10 months and one week pregnant. IMAGINE sitting in a hospital waiting room and not eating because if you’re induced you CANT EAT. Thankfully at 12 the hospital told me I could get food because it would be a long. I thank God for them. I finally get induced at 8pm and because it is a teaching hospital there was a chance she wouldn’t deliver my baby. I knew that going in, however, I was in labor for 36 hours. I had to be manually dialated because my sons heart was in tachycardia. Then I was placed on iv medication to dilate me for 36 hours. I had to have my water broken. The hospital staff tried everything. I ended up with an emergency csection due to my failed induction. I did not see Dr. Torres one time! I was in the hospital for a week to recover. I did not see her once! Did not hear from her office once! No care, compassion, or concern for myself and more than anything my son! I was told to wait a couple days for my obgyn to contact me if they haven’t for a follow up because a csection is a much more rigorous procedure. Nothing. She also didnt tell the hospital staff I wanted to breastfeed so I had very little support and care from lactation consultants. In fact, the pediatrician in charge of my son told me VERBATIM: “black women don’t like to breastfeed especially young moms so we assumed you didn’t want to breastfeed.” If it’s in my chart how are you able to assume anything? You can imagine my disgust. After three weeks. Yes you read that right three weeks. I called Dr. Torres to schedule my follow up appointment to evaluate my csection scar and then 6 week appointment to clear me. I showed up 4 weeks after I had my son, and at my appointment Dr. Torres asked me: “you had a csection I had no idea!?” My jaw dropped and I was immediately overcome with anger. The lack of care, attention, and compassion she shows her patients is just an abomination. I am lucky I am in the medical field and know how to advocate for myself and son, but other women who aren’t as fortunate would truly be torn to pieces by this treatment. If I didn’t love kids I know for a fact after this experience I would swear off having another child. I know this review is long, but DO NOT go to her. She is horrrrible. You and your child deserve so much more. Especially if you’re a first time mommy you need someone who cares. You need this so they can catch warning signs and abnormal symptoms you wouldn’t know is weird due to it being your first pregnancy. I hope her and her staff reads this! I was so completely disappointed by this poor customer service!"
